i have a smaller crt that i bring to my girls house (has vhs built in)
but i prefer the larger heavy tubes & controller extenders

playing in bed and seeing the room light up with the flashes is so comfy

when you're finally done and turn off the tv & put the back of your hand on the glass listening to the crackle of the static

If you're looking for a more authentic experience, using crts from the era, and aren't super anal about picture clarity being priority, I cannot recommend the 13" Zenith Space Command from 1989 enough!
It's RF and mono channel only, plus it's a super nice tv aesthetically too. So if you wanna play NES or Genesis on a crt that you likely would've had for your bedroom back in the early 90's, this is the tv to get.
If you can obtain a matching Zenith VCR as well, you've got yourself a very nice entertainment setup to impress all your cool cat friends, and get all the girls wet when you bring them home too.
That last bit is sarcasm, but it's cool to have nonetheless.

It had a display resolution of 450,000 pixels, using a new proprietary Sony technology called the Trini-lite.[2] It was a microprocessor-based light bulb developed by one of Kuroki's colleagues, chief Betamax engineer Yuji Watanabe.

>That dude has the brightness really cranked
Not necessarily. It could just be the way his phone's camera picks up the light from the TV. I tried to contribute to a CRT thread a while ago, and this is what I got on normal brightness.

>Zenith

My grandparent's had an old Zenith they gave to me and my brother. It was one similar to pic related. I have no idea what was wrong with the thing, but when playing any videogame console on it (SNES, Genesis, PS, or 64) the entire screen bounced. Of course all of those were through RF, so I don't know if composite would have done any differently (I can't remember if it even had composite). The VCR we had worked fine, as did our consoles when hooked up to different TVs.
This is my very limited experience with a Zenith TV, but I thought I would give anyone interested in one a heads up about the thing.

So I have a CRT monitor but when the brightness or contrast is set too high, the screen gets very blurry and text is almost unreadable. It looks fine when the settings are turned down but the screen is very dim as a result. I heard if I open the monitor I should see some knobs near the flyback transformer that will better fine tune the monitor. Should I do this?

>> No.6846114

>>6844376
Try it, if it doesn't work it either means failing caps or the tube is worn, tubes naturally become dim with use and have to be cranked up and up to the point they become useless as they're unreadable, you better hope its either of the first 2.

JVC TM-H150CG. It’s a 240p and 480i only display, but works with composite and S video natively and with a $70 reproduction board can add RGB and Component BNC input. Also has a built in speaker, although not an amazing sound. Thankfully you can output sound to some speakers if you’d like via RCA.

Typically the OSD lines are the only RGB lines going into the IC jungle, so often times you need to inject the RGB signal in place of OSD. It can be multiplexed however, although I haven't done enough research myself to know how.

It'll be okay, but it doesn't make much sense to buy an HD CRT unless you plan to play mostly PS3/360 era stuff.

Small 14 inch. 800TVL. Native (non-scaling) support for 240p, 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i. Plus the PAL equivalents.

HD-SDI card upgrade lets me hook up modern digital HDMI sources without coversion from/to analog. RGB for for everything else.

Atari 2600 to Xbox One. It all works.
At least until some newer system is locked only to 1080p or better.

Yeah, PC CRTs are basically the same thing, hence CRT. Here's an image I found online, you can decide whether or not you like it, but I do suggest trying to find a decent one if you do decide to get one.

If you want to actually use your consoles on it, you'll have to buy an upscaler.
