Yes, and? The whole game was a rip off of alone in the dark, and it has lots of refferenes in it. Like the scene with the tyrant coming out of the roof was apparently an almost frame by frame recreation of a similar scene in a jap Sci if horror movie.

The first time I saw it mentioned was maybe in about 2009, on a site where people posted PS1 ISOS and the guy who posted umihara kawase shun did this huge write up about how amazing it was and nobody fucking cared. A couple people showed some interest because they never heard of the series before, but most jus didn't care. Fast forward to the last several years and everyone mentions the series in "best SNES games ever" lists all of a sudden.

Ive only played the REmake. I need to go back and play the original just for historical purposes. I have played RE2 and 3 though.

Is there a definitive version?

you know how in re1 2 rooms before Yawn you find Richard, is he already dead in Chris' playthrough? or am I always too slow I always forget about him every time I play the game and I find him dead, is time or another trigger or is he just dead in his playthrough?

1 -CV you mean. 3 is a gaiden game that was never meant to be a mainline title. The only reason it wasn't called RE3 and RE3 wasn't called RE:Nemesis was because it was a dreamcast exclusive and that didn't sit right with Sony.
