Behold: The Worst boot up sequence of any console.

>> No.6814263

Real talk, how did Sony went from the soulful PS1's intro, to the generic and boring intros of PS2, PS3 and PS4?
Will they go back to having a good one with PS5?

Color me surprised.
Also no, PS2's intro is just a boring generic thing that could be some chink android device bootup. PS1's startup is soulful as fuck.

Seems fine to me, at least it had an intro and wasn't just a simple push a button boot up like with all the consoles afterwards

No idea why nincels are so volatile lately. PS2's boot sequence is so good. The sharp clang, the warm welcome when the logo flashes, and the cool detail of having the white pillars extend as your memory card fills.

I don't really like the GC either, I was just commenting on how obvious of a trope it is that the one guy making anti-GC threads would be pro-PS2 fanboy.
>PS2's boot sequence is so good
It's so generic and boring, though.
>sharp clang
Up your ass maybe
>warm welcome
I can tell you don't have much human interaction IRL, so you think a console's startup is a "warm welcome" to you.
>cool detail of having the white pillars extend
Yeah, I can see how you would like "white pillars" extend onto your face

What makes PS1's intro special is the tune, really. And you can have that tune on PS4 by installing PSone Anniversary theme.

PS1 really is the best. Big soft spot for both Saturn boot ups however. Xbox was OK, Gamecube's felt like a kiddy toy.

I actually think 6th gen console war is pretty tame right now.
I guess people are still to busy focusing on the rule change to start actually doing 6th gen console war proper.
I give it a week or two before the real 6th gen console war shitposting starts.

The PS1 has the best sound design but the visuals are incredibly boring, it's basically two static images.
The PS2 is fine but overshadowed by the others.
The Xbox Original boot is dated but in a charming 00s way.
The Gamecube boot is iconic but if you're very inpatient it overstays its welcome.
The dreamcast boot is fine but the devkit one was better. Ideally it would have the devkit 3d swirl and the newer version sound synced to it.
For some reason young me was salty that the Gameboy Advance logo was rainbow with a blue background in all the promo material but a solid color when booting the actual device. I got over it quickly though.

>> No.6815131

The orchestra string sounds of the PS3 startup is way more soulful than the drone-y digital sounds of the PS2's. The PS1 had a digital sound intro but at least it had actual good sound design.
