Modern co-op is dead, everything is done online
Co-op is straight up cut from games that used to have it, devs don't believe in sitting together in the couch playing games. They want your bucks from owning multiple consoles and multiple copies. Only company that somewhat does this is Nintendo but that's because Smash and Mario Kart need to have it

The Gen version does have more levels (1 more per "flava" iirc). Is there something interesting tech-wise that makes the SNES version worth checking out?
