6796454 No.6796454 [Reply] [Original]

I refuse to emulate anything, I still own and buy PS2 games and play exclusively with discs.

It adds so much to the experience for me, I like having a collection of pristine boxes with manuals on my shelf.

Might be a bait post as usual, but if you're serious, I hear ya. I have nothing against emulation bros and use it myself to try out games I'm considering getting, but I'd rather play on actual hardware with actual discs. That's just me, though.

I can understand not wanting to emulate, but if you're not softmodding your consoles in 2020 what the hell are you doing? Don't feed into the reseller market

I had a hard drive setup but something went seriously wrong. All of a sudden it started buzzing and wouldn't load isos. I cant get the hard drive to be recognized by any device anywhere. So bad drive right? Get another. Got another. Was able to format with Winhiip and get the games on it... But the PS2 won't recognize it. So bad adapter now too?

I'm playing with disc's at the moment because I own most games I want.

so we can talk about ps2 now or what.
I don't mind emulating dreamcast and newer because the polygons they generate are pretty similar or exactly the same as the way modern polygons are created. For n64 and earlier the polygons look a lot different from the original system if you use emulation so its worth using the original systems for n64, ps1, saturn and 3do.

Because it feels like a cheap imitation of the real thing.

Even if it's 100% accurate emulation, it feels bad to play Wind Waker on a computer monitor. It feels bad to close out the program instead of hitting that big ole button on the gamecube. It feels bad to boot up a game by double clicking a file as opposed to putting a tiny CD in.

That's fair enough, but has you given emulation a fair chance to ascertain your insinuations? From the looks of it, no.
>If you saw your mother sucking a homeless guys dick, you'd feel bad right? Is that sufficient explanation?
No, that doesn't have anything about the subject question in all. Can you explain your reasoning without resorting to what you think may be analogies but are not analogies at all?

There's nothing deeper there. It just feels "bad" like seeing your mother suck dick feels "bad". There's no deeper explanation needed beyond "this feels bad". I'm sorry you're autistic and don't get it.

I feel the same, after many years of trying the optical disc thing simply doesn't work very well.
