OP here.
1 is a SNES emulator on the PS2 using component cables.
2 is an actual SNES with composite cables.

They're so close that I would say your camera is creating more distortion than any difference in the screens.

The snes one actually looks blurrier.

Not everyone wants to mutilate their original system for an incremental increase in signal that might not even be visible on their tv. You really think RGB would look any better on that screen he's got?

>>679004
>mutilate

What the fuck? You just need to get the right cable. No modding required. And believe me, it would make a difference. The same difference you see in OP's picture actually. RGB has roughly the same level of quality as component.

My tv does not have a scart slot, so I'd have to buy a scart-to-component upscaler or something of the sort. Those are expensive.

>>679008
wat. I thought NTSC SNES needed modding for that shit.

Im not autistic so they both look fine.

Not at all, just the right cable. Just make sure you don't get a PAL SNES RGB cable cause the AV pins are different on the plug on that system.

>> No.679067

>>679045
It doesn't. A Gamecube RGB cable(which was only sold in Europe) works very well, but a third-party one is much cheaper/easier to find.

Strangely enough, the GC RGB cable works with the NTSC SNES out of the box, but requires a cable mod for use on the PAL SNES. The GC RGB cable won't work on NTSC Gamecubes, though.

>> No.679081

>>679067

GC didn't come with RGB cables.

>> No.679086

Because of the capacitors on the red, green and blue cables, the picture on the PAL SNES goes so dark you can't see shit. Fixing this is pretty easy though, all you have to do is remove the caps and solder the cables back together.

The PAL GC and NTSC SNES need those caps to work though, so you can't make an universal cable.

I know that. It was sold seperately, only in Europe.
America got S-Video cables instead.
