I've been playing through H1 on Steam and I'm blown away by how shitty it is as a fps. I enjoyed the game when it was released, but holy fuck is it ever trash now as an adult. You literally have to play with the magnum and a plasma pistol to take care of elites, which is fine, but the lack of any sort of precision weapons (aside from magnum and sniper) is really just shit game design. This game would be much better with the BR/DMR. I struggle to think of a worse gun in any game than the basic assault rifle.

That's what I'd be playing anyway lol. You think I actually own an Xbox? I bought the remasters but then I realized you have to sign into Xbox Live to play it. I might actually pirate the game even though I already own it on Steam just to bypass the signin requirement.

Sounds pretty based actually. I've always loved mechanics where you return to levels/play through an alternative version. Prime 2 is my favorite Metroid game largely for that reason.
