Tell us about your experiences with the game. Personally, it's one of the first games I bought on Steam and part of what got me (back) into PC gaming.

What part of the game makes it not retro

Yeah, people who ran this meme into the ground were kinda cringe. It was funny as a brief easter egg, but people had to try to make it the game's catchphrase or something.

No part of the game? It's a PC game released in October 2007, before the December 2007 cutoff.

It was not funny, the song was idiotic, and that aspect of the game's aesthetics was way overdone. The meme itself was mainly popular among people who've never even played Portal.

OP was posting like it being retro was a bad thing. i figured he was angry and bitter about the new rules, so i was gonna see why he was so

I thought you were talking about soijak for a second

I thought it was alright. I didn't have a problem with any of that stuff. I'm not someone who holds this game up as some kind of a masterpiece, but I think it did a great job at what it set out to do, which is being an entry point for people getting into Steam, PC gaming, and moving/platforming in first person. To this day it's a good game to give to a kid who's never played a first-person PC game before to show them how it works.

No, my intent was to tease the jannies a bit by getting as close to the cutoff as possible without going over in an "I'm not touching you" kind of way, but I don't have a problem with the new rules. I came over from /v/ specifically because of them
>>6772446
Well that's true as well.

i dont think jannies care about that. you should have posted a game outside of the date but was still a ps2 game. like some fifa game that came out after ps3 arived

i really liked the orange box. portal was a lot of fun and really my first exposure to puzzle games. tf2 was great when it first came out and there were little servers where everyone knew everyone else. and i think everyone was hype for ep3 to come out... and it never did. fucking valve.

nah if you're gonna go that route be big dick, do madden 09 for xbox

>> No.6772659

It was okay, but I felt like the experience just made me want more and there wasn't that big of a Portal modding scene back then.
