Is the Megajoy a legitimate retro system?

>> No.6748063

So what was the deal with the same smattering of Hudson and early Konami games these things tended to have? You'd think the big NES icons like Zelda and Megaman would be first on the table. Not that I'm complaining. They actually introduced me to some good games.

>> No.6748086

>>6748063
I'm guessing mappers. American Konami games used a cheap ass mapper.

>> No.6748115

>>6748063
NROM games you can literally just throw on flash memory and stick in a Famiclone, as >>6748086
said, there's no mappers to clone.

WHY EVEN HAVE THE MIDDLE PRONG YOU DIPSHITS. IT'S JUST USELESS PLASTIC.

>> No.6748410

>>6748396
Because they had a mold for an N64 controller, presumably.

>> No.6748427

As anon said, they'd just throw on all the early NROM Famicom titles which were small and required no cartridge infrastructure outside the ROM chip itself. I think there were only about 50 or so licensed NROM titles (plus some more if unlicensed games are counted including Taiwanese stuff) so those multicarts would just have the same handful of games over and over.

to make it look like N64, because of some parents would buy that instead of the other, much more expensive stuff.

You’d think those Chinese factories would have switched to cheap ARM and have No-Intro sets preinstalled

my very first console was actually a very cheap famiclone that broke down in a few months. it looked like a green, transparent psx and was called something like funstation, it had a bunch of games built in, like smb, duckhunt and circus charlie, but i can't remember the rest, i tried looking up some bootleg multicarts with no luck

I'm pretty sure that's a NOAC (NES on a chip), not an actual clone of the Famicom.
I think NOACs are still retro though (made before 1999), but don't quote me on that.
Real famiclones are mostly from the early to mid 90s, and nowadays are probably not that easy to find, the market has been flooded with NOACs.

Because it's a classic early Famicom title that's very small in size.
I think games like Super Mario Bros, Adventure Island or Contra were the biggest games multicarts had, at least back then. Most of the games were simpler early arcade games, like Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Popeye, Dig Dug, Antartic Adventure (this one actually impressed me as a kid with its pseudo-3D perspective).

Hell yeah man. This game gets shit on all the time, but you won't find a more action packed multiplayer wrestling game on the system. You'll do anything to catch the orb for that power up. It's pretty fun as a single player game, but multiplayer is insane.
