Riven's got a neat gimmick (all the puzzles being grounded), bit it's a huge pain in the ass.
The buttons hidden behind doors are enough to drop the score a few points for me.

>> No.6723136

>>6722736
Not really. A lot of games have "mechanics" at the forefront, whether it's a puzzle game like Tetris or a platformer like Mario 64. And that doesn't mean you don't explore other worlds in Mario 64, that's part of the appeal for sure, but games like Myst and Riven are first and foremost about moving through a space. If you have no interest in exploring a world these artists created, like if a person only sees it as a "slideshow", then of course I can't recommend it just for the puzzles. But if you're a person who's really into the so-called "walking simulators" then something like Myst or Riven is fantastic.

Is there any other retro vidya with the same atmosphere and like simmilar art firrection as OG Myst/Riven?

Not really retro, but have you checked out the RHEM series? It's very clearly inspired by Myst/Riven, even named the second game completely different to the rest of the series.
