Are any of them decent or better? I kinda want to try the ones on the SNES

>> No.6725915

The beat 'em up one is decent. The jarpig one is good only if you like the anime.

Banpresto Arcade Beat'em Up is probably the best but the SNES games are not too shabby with each sailor having different playstyles that represent their personality, while the arcade you only get some stats differences.

There's a whole bunch of arcade puzzles on snes be sure to check those out.

There's a whole buncha puzzle but I never remember their names. They seem to be little unique twists on already existing games.

Sailor Moon (the beat em up) on SNES and Mega Drive is pretty fun, loads of comfy.
The fighting games on SNES are pretty good too.
Saturn and 3DO fighting games are alright, avoid the PS1 one.

Saturn trash anyway.

It is strange, but I guess Saint Seiya wasn't as popular in Japan during the 90s anymore, it was more late 80s I guess? Still strange. A Saint Seiya beat em up or fighting game would have been all the rage in the mid 90s in Europe and Latin America.

This one for example seems to be based on clickmania, but it's 1on1 versus, you have super attacks, to erase black garbage blocks you have to first clear blocks adjacent to it and special blocks that clear an entire color occasionally pop up.

It's like a clone of an old game with new mechanics that prevent it from being just a copy

And also you control with a pad while the original was controlled by mouse, I actually think the pad controls makes it more fun and arcadey.

This one is like Candy Crush, once again features
1on1 vs, supers, new blocks, pad controls.

The SNES fighting game is pure kusoge but it's very fun with friends. I've played in tournaments and it's honestly less fun at high levels because of infinite levels and technical glitches making things work unpredictably.

The RPG is a treat and the its story does not get the respect it deserves. It explored the world of Sailor Moon in a way that the show refused to do. The anime almost never let events from other seasons affect each other. But this game references events from the entire series and shows the impact of those events.

Most the ones I played are standard fare, which were on the SNES. The fighting, brawler, and puzzle games are all okay on the SNES, nothing spectacular, so all the ones on that system falls under the decent banner. The good news being those are really cheap games, which is why I got them.

>>6725983
True it is pretty fun with friends, even though it was a so-so game back in the day. I have no idea how it got a resurgence to be appreciated more than it was in the past, but I suspect this video did great for the Sailor Moon game's exposure at 10:41 : https://youtu.be/ZbjSeBOP-MA?t=641

The arcade game is tolerable at best outside of graphics and presentation, gameplay is too cheap ever for an arcade beat em up.

The 16-bit era was truly the golden era of home video games.
On top of having the best of the best that famous companies like Sega, Nintendo, Capcom and Konami (the four horsemen of home video games), 4th gen also got the best licensed anime games.
I like pretty much all of the 4th gen Sailor Moon games, but my favorite remains the Mega Drive game, which lacks 2-player mode (which the SNES version has), and is missing a level, but it has an amazing soundtrack. Honestly on my top most comfy video game music of all time, I think whether you played this game or not, you will be transported to another time with this music

Was that flickering shadow thing the way SNES did semitransparency? And do you need a TV screen to see it properly?

>> No.6730986

>>6730982
I think the SNES could do actual transparencies (I remember Super Castlevania IV having real transparency), but yeah you need to watch it on a real TV to see that shadow effect on sailor moon.
