I almost think the differences could be in bad / worn caps. I know one mod is to stack 10uF X7R ceramic capacitors on the existing SMD capacitors on CPU, PPU1, PPU2, WRAM, and both VRAM chips. Maybe that 1chip-02 shown would improve to the quality of the other 2 1chips/Jr

Why else would the 1chip-02 be worse than the 1chip-01 and 03?
