First one I played was SMB 3 in preschool and I for some reason owned the All Stars version with World and have very very dim memories of renting 2 a lot but really it was 64 I recall the most from my youth.

Childhood game? I have a lot of nostalgia for Super Mario 3D World because I got it for my 12th birthday (19 now).
If you mean retro my grandpa gave me his NES when he passed away and I adore Super Mario Bros. 2.

All of them.
The platformers anyway, always thought the spinoffs were gay as hell and took away development time from the next mainline game.

I had played the original Donkey Kong on Coleco Vision first (although I liked DK Jr better and played it more), then I played some Mario Bros (arcade) on NES, then jumped straight to SMB3, which I guess could be defined as my childhood Mario game. I played SMB1 afterwards and it felt weird, but I also enjoyed it. Then finally I played SMB2(USA).
Then got a SNES and Super Mario World became quickly my favorite. I can't decide between 3 and World, both are the peak of the series for me.

Like I said, it came out when I was 12 in 2013.
So yes, I have nostalgia for a game that came out in my childhood.

SMB when i was still retarded and my sister would "let me play" but i just held P2 and did fucking nothing. SMB3 is when my brain came online and i could actually play. i remember my older cousin teaching me where the first "tooter" was. sounds rapey i know but she was southern and that's what she called the flute/whistle. then i got the SNES with super mario all stars and zelda for my birthday one year and video games have been my life since. thanks for reading my blog, my cousin was pretty hot so if she showed me her tooter back then i'm alright with it

Super Mario Bros. Deluxe and Super Mario 64, then Super Mario World. I had brief flirtations with other Mario games but those are the main ones from my childhood. Yes, I got a SNES after I got an N64. I don't really know why.
Super Mario Bros. Deluxe was definitely the first one I played though since the Game Boy Color was the first Nintendo console I owned, grew up with a Genesis.

How do you have nostalgia for something that's less than a decade old.

>> No.6660267

>>6660257
...do you think Nostalgia has a time limit or something? You know that you can easily have a longing for a better time even as short as like six months ago.

Mario 2 on my dad's NES.
He also had that Mario 1/Duck Hunt split cartridge, but I remember spending more time playing Mario 2 for whatever reason.

When I was 7 my neighbor lent my dad a NES with 3 cartridges: Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 3 and Bomberman. I played through 2 worlds in SMB1 and I didn't really like it so I played through SMB3 instead.

Dude, I was a middle schooler when all the Habbo/chanology/everything else stuff went down, trying to fit in and not get caught was really daunting at the time, I was the "zoomer" of that era. The principle of LURK MOAR genuinely taught me a lot about educating myself before partaking in a dialogue.
Honestly, I'm willing to bet my story's a lot similar to other anons, but we kept our heads down, dammit
