I'm not against remakes, it's can be nice to have new versions too, but they are definitely not replacements for the originals. That's a very zoomer way of thinking.
Also, Mole Mania was never ported or remade.

That's not my experience at all. Most of the library is still really fun to crack out and play. Even little filler games still hold up - Mario Tennis on GBC is my fav tennis game on any console.

I think this is it. I never had one as a kid and I'm trying to get into it now. Games are too basic. I dont care about graphics too much but they are so bad on the Gameboy its a turnoff.

The gameboy? Yea, there's some fun games, and the form factor is comfy as fuck compared to the GBA in my opinion. 90% of the time I just play Tetris on it, but I still think it's worth having solely for that.

I think the original DMG gameboy screen without modifications is complete AIDS to look at for more than 10 minutes, but I might be biased because I started out with a GBC and didn't have the DMG until only a few years ago.

I modded my GBC with a TFT backlit screen and glass lens, and it was like $70 total and didn't require any shell modification. The same mod can be done with the original DMG gameboy and the pocket as well.

rather than talk about whether or not the games on this platform have """"dated"""" (they haven't, and if you're concerned about games being dated you need to fuck off back to /v/ immediately), you really need to consider that the only alternative for video games on the go was tiger electronic handhelds, which were dogshit, and we STILL played those because it was a game you could take with you. when the game boy came out and we had actual decent quality games you could take with you wherever you wanted (not even necessarily in public but to a friend's house for example) it kicked ass. plus you could play a game on your gb if your family was hogging the tv or the nes or whatever the fuck.

in short, zoomers will simply never understand the significance of the platform, but they can at least enjoy the games it offers if they can force themselves beyond the """""it's too dated"""""" mindset

In that case, there's still reasons to play the OG, probably the biggest reason is that you can cancel text by pressing the B button while on the DX version you have to sit through it (probably why so many people make a huge deal out of the "it's too heavy!" text box, since many people only played DX), and then some small changes that give the OG its own personality, such as stone slabs instead of owl statues inside temples.

It's missing an entire world in KSS (and boss until Ultra). There's no extra mode, and the copy abilities make it a different game altogether.
