I dunno but this is all the "3D" I need in my CRPGs. MM6 got the formula just right.
I think we need a new wave of MM6/7/8 clones.

To me they're just right. The graphics are more representational than literal, yet they're still pretty enough. Free movement, not grid movement. 2D assets means more content. I found myself actually pausing to read books/notes/dialog as opposed to Oblivion where I just click through everything.
These games are more rewarding.

We have a lot of clones of MM1-5. I want to see some more 6/7/8 with free movement.

It never looked good to filter low res textures(most of the textures ingame are 64x64 or 128x128), but something like anisotropic filtering could really help.
It preserves the detail on distant textures while greatly reducing shimmering and pattern effects.

The only difference is you bought double the first week you got the grail, from then on you'd still be buying once a week. Even just from playing the campaigns I can tell you this isn't how it works.
You obviously start with just one main hero that is being carried by their units for the first half of the game. In the mean time you use other heroes to either improve economy, collect things or just do smaller battles and the dwellings while your main hero is doing something else. By the time the main hero is busted and others at least have the "Combat" skill on decent specialization, you basically won and you can terrorize everything and everyone. It's fun and some missions/scenarios obviously encourage that.

I like how Barren Lands has a fair amount of lore but keeps quiet about it, leaving you to discover it yourself. Amazing, I wasn't even aware this thing existed. From what I was able to gather, this town is currently "suspended" and put on hold indefinitely, none of the content has been released so far. Looks cool even though one might say it's just a reskin for the Castle. Reminds me somewhat of the Empire faction from Disciples 2, which is always a good thing and now that I think of it, a town representing the Humanists cult from homm - an evil human faction - would be incredible, and that's the vibe I'm getting here. Hoping they release it some day, even unfinished it seems somewhat more appealing than Cove/Factory imo.

So I just played Bay of Broken Ships. A neat map, but when I crossed the sea and tried to take one of the AI towns early on, one of their heroes with 150 (!) liches assaulted my main and proceeded to kick his ass on month 2 week 1. I looked the map up on the map editor, but couldn't find where they got those liches. Yes, the AI's part of the map has 2/3 pieces of the Cloak of the Balanced King, but the last piece doesn't exist in that map since there's no random artifacts anywhere.
I had to load an earlier save to avoid that hero and go on the offensive from the other side of the map to eventually win through flagging all dwellings . It just left me very, very confused.
