Get in here.
Get your shit together.
Post a great retro game you played for the first time recently.

Mega Man X
never had a SNES as a kid, I'm 34.
Holy shit, one of the best games I've ever played.

Super Mario RPG
Loved Paper Mario as a kid and am really enjoying this one too.

>> No.6625330

Metroid. Just got the wave beam and feel like such a badass. I’d always liked other Metroid games but this is the first time actually getting farther than the first area and it’s skyrocketing up my list of favorite nes games

Impossibru, literally most of what they recommend me here is either the basics or just not my thing. I played all I like already.

Damn, you play Varth on the original cabinet or discover it later?

Oh lol I am a taco, so here we have those super multi game things
I played it way later, but it is the same thing
I mean it is the arcade stick, just the machine has like 500 games you can just switch and pick which one you like. Imo it is better than the real thing that only has 1 game.

I played Soul Blazer earlier. Kind of janky at times but pretty nice and I liked the townbuilding gimmick. Gonna play Illusion of Gaia later, can't wait.

Awesome to hear, loved this as a kid. What's it like playing now? Is it annoying trying to find breakable walls, and having to make your own map, and not being able to quickly recover your ammo and health?

i finished Rondo Of Blood today, was really good, a little bit on the short side but ok.

I played Nishijin Pachinko 2. After about ten minutes without pressing a button I put my controller down and let the machine run. Then after fifteen minutes I sped up the emulator to 400%. I just sat there and watched numbers go brrrrrrrr.

Yeah I got extremely stuck in norfair trying to find my way out of the first area, until I eventually gave up and looked up a Nintendo power and saw what I missed. After that I payed a lot more attention and bombed anything that looked suspicious. Grinding wasn’t terrible since there was usually one obvious grinding room per area, and it really isn’t a big deal at all once you get the varia suit. It still holds up I think, the graphics are some of the most colorful on the system

I've been playing Kabuki Quantum Fighter after seeing it recced in a Castlevania thread. It's pretty good.

Just beat Ys I and working on Ys II Saturn version right now. Ys I holds up pretty well, some bullshit aside.

Ah! I see you are a man of culture. I wasn't sure if it was cps1 or two, so let it as is.

Bought the Veteran edition of Strife and played through it recently. The game had some problems, especially near the end, but overall it was enjoyable and I recommend it.

Castlevania: Circle of the Moon.

I finally found a cheat that lets you dash without having to double tap every single time so the game is actually playable now.
