In a capitalist world there's nearly no alternative to being exploited. Yes, you could hypothetically join or create a worker's co-operative where the business is run by the workers and everyone gets an equal share, but they'll likely be put out of business by the companies that put their money towards growing the business instead of taking care of their employees. That's because in a capitalist system the #1 priority is to accumulate capital which is best done by growing a business...the workers' interests are irrelevant unless it has to do with attracting and retaining skilled workers.

In the same way in a feudal state the serfs had no choice but to serve their lord to get by, in capitalism a worker has no real choice but to wageslave for a company. Capitalism is less exploitative than feudalism, but there is of course something less exploitative than capitalism.
