Mario "World" was already out by then, it's not difficult to think that a sequel would be named something bigger than World, like "Universe" or "Galaxy". I would bet at least a couple thousand kids back then thought the same.

You are suggesting that the child who proposed the name Super Mario Galaxy could not have possibly predicted it based off other Mario game name entries. The other person is saying that even though he was taking a stab in the dark, he based the name Galaxy off of extrapolating from "World".

Was guessing "Super Mario Galaxy" based on something bigger than "World" a guaranteed bet? No. Was the child applying rigorous logic to his prediction? No. Was he right anyway? Yes.
