I did this all the way throughout all the retro consoles.
I had this stereo system I'd plug into my crt to play my games up until the Dreamcast.
Still have a crt but the only consoles that survived were the SNES and the Wii.
I have like 20 SNES cartridges only, that I've played since childhood, and they cost the same as a ps4 title on launch date, no matter how shitty the game.
So yeah, not much reason to use those nowadays so I play emulators on a 1ms monitor with a ds4 pad.
Not complaining about having whole libraries available at the download of a torrent.

Doing this as well, but I fucked up and got very slight permanent burn-in noticeable on red screens from my bookmark bar while browsing. Kinda wish I ate it on the video quality and just got the gsync compatible non-OLED SM9000, but I don't think it was known work with gsync at the time. Be VERY sure to keep a screensaver on and eliminate as many static elements (taskbar, browser bars) from regular use as possible. Oh well. I got a decent deal on it, and I'll probably get whatever better option is out in a couple years. You just have to handle OLED too delicately for me to ever consider it again.

My crt is a Panasonic CT1382Y and while it has a vertical adjust in the back, there's no horizontal adjust anywhere to be found on the thing. If there's a service menu I have no clue how to access it since there's very little to no information of my model out there on the net.

It's not so bad. It's not like you're always running 4:3 content, or running static 4:3 content long enough to burn, but it is a concern.

The only burn-in I have, after several months, is a faint couple bookmark icons from not browsing in fullscreen like an idiot, and only noticeable with a completely red screen. Nothing from vidya at all.

The screen looks fantastic, but burn-in really is the monkey paw rattle of OLED and you have to play on its terms. I won't do it again once it's new TV time. Just so long as it's low latency, supports gsync from 20-120fps and looks pretty-good I'll be satisfied.

Thanks for the protip. I spent a good long while taking the thing apart and tinkering with every internal bit that I could find and I discovered that I can adjust damn near everything about the tv EXCEPT for the horizontal adjust.
The coil you posted is in there (as it slightly stretches and squishes the screen horizontally as I poke it with a screwdriver) but there's no way to actually adjust it as it looks entirely different compared to the coil in your pic.
This is honestly one of the most baffling and elusive things I've ever seen. Why does something so simple have to be so hard to figure out. Makes me think that the manufacturer didn't want anyone adjusting it whatsoever for.. reasons?
