BTSX E1's dehacked is purely automap names and story intermissions.
E2 does have a custom monster replacing commander keen, but it is just a zombieman that doesn't drop ammo, and it is exclusive to a single encounter in E2M14. It also makes changes to allow for the death exit in E2M16 to instantly exit the level. I imagine they could easily work around these.
No idea if E3 has any major dehacked changes.

This map gave me a lot of trouble at the Archvile fight right after the Mancubi, but I learned you can just cheese it by hiding in the side rooms. I'm not sure if that was intentional.
I think the amount of health was perfectly fine, except the megasphere should have more risk to picking it up. You can just shut the window on the Barons, and there's nothing else in the room to challenge the player.

For the mobile RPGs, is there any major differences between the various phone builds and whether or not they're touch screen? I found a touch version that's higher res than the included one in OP but it's missing the level transition animation, and I've noticed some of the touch versions have lower-res skyboxes (not that you really ever see them).

IIRC some higher-end versions instead of pre-rendered wall compositions commonly used in such dungeon crawlers, use some basic raycasting that allows for smooth turning and more visually varied enemy placement on the battle field.

Some people hate E3M2, but I like it a lot. It's this tight and tense crawl through these sandy rocky canyons, with demons and zombies in every other nook and cranny. I really wish it was twice as big.
Really, the tight supplies on E3M1 and E3M2 together makes it all the better.

Had to use two save points because I'm a scrub and couldn't be assed. I think the health and ammo is perfect, but there were several armors I never picked up.
I enjoyed your Dead Simple room. I thought it was well designed, much better than the early versions I saw you posting webms of (I think that was you). An example of good design here is the green triangle side-rooms that are elevated and when you're on them you have a better view of the room but arachnotrons can now shoot you over the white square walls whereas they can't shoot over them at you when you're in the moat-like path around the center. There's always enough pillars to provide obstacles/cover. Enemies are all well used. The Hell Knights always ended up fighting the corner Mancubi for me but I liked that. The only thing I didn't like about this room was the medkit placement. They're right in the player's way! I kept picking them up on accident when I was at like 97% health. Inside the green triangle rooms would be better placement. More out of the way but still accessible.
For the final fight, I was able to just sit in the blue key room and easily pick enemies off from there. It felt like cheese because only Lost Souls could get in. But I also wasn't trying to cheese the level, I kept getting forced into there.
All in all, enjoyable, thank you.

so I'm playing project brutality 3.0, with UDV fog + lighting for the dark, gloomy doom 3 lighting experience, and with ultimate custom doom. extra monster health, extra damage taken by monsters, on the lowest difficulty so fewer enemy spawns. and its a whole other beast entirely. pure horror experience. even zombiemen can kill you in a few seconds if you get too cocky, even at over 100 hp + armour. so you have to be tactical, know your positioning, keep an eye on the motion sensor map so you don't get flanked, etc etc etc. its way more immersive now.

Despite what some may say here about NuDOOM, Eternal delivered and I personally would love to see a similar expansion and Renaissance of lore and attention for Ranger and Quake 1 in a remake like those.

I've tried to play Valiant on HMP, but with the number of spawns and how they appear (teleported in behind you, swarming you, shit like that) is just something I can't handle it. Download a program called Doom Launcher. It keeps track of your play time, stats, demos, and you can add the .txt file that comes with the PWAD as well as the WAD's TITLEPIC. It's really one of my favorites. I feel that Sarevok Anchev is kind of a better done villain than Jon Irenicus though.
Like, you figure out the whole Iron Throne business early on, their whole scheme of tainting all the sources of iron, provoking a war between Amn and the city of Baldur's Gate, and reaping massive profits being the only good supplier of iron. Sarevok is part of that, but you don't really see how you connect to all of that scheming, and his interest in you, why he murdered Gorion and wanted to kill you. The way his actual plot pieces together, and you realize your shared divine heritage, and why he eventually ends up sabotaging the Iron Throne, because he wasn't looking for the money, just the war. The only part that doesn't hold up about the plot is that stupid "Koveras" detail, but at least you can eventually give him his ring back
Meanwhile, Irenicus has a goal, a motive, but you never learn of that until you get to Spellhold, you're just left in the dark completely. I still love the voice performance though.

That's NC-HUD, I just bundled that into the mod because I think it's a good and clean fullscreen HUD that tells you everything and shows you Doomguy's face without clutter. Also I don't know how to write my own HUD.
Mostly I'm tweaking some graphics (muzzle flashes, sights, etc). Gave new graphics for Cybie's rocket, so it spews a fat and bright jet of fire behind it, and then a trail of smoke following. It moves really fast now, making him a more dangerous enemy, though as a result the trail spaces apart a bit, so it doesn't look as consistent when you dodge it.

I have all the new frames done for the CAR15, so I'll be implementing those and doing its new behaviors (quicker and slicker reload, and an optional, and likely pretty useless ADS).

its not really that gzdoom is a bad port. its just really slow rendering certain things because its main focus is adding new features into doom like real 3d space in maps so room over room things work. its render is also very good for special effects and particles.

Gzdoom. Take a look at Hedon it has 3d geometry and real time objects and terrain moving and transforming. Gzdoom is different than regular doom modding. Back in the days you had to use a lot of trickery like moving textures or invisible 1px wide textures to create bridges and things like that and the actual level geometry could only move up and down.
think of the doom level data as sort of a 2d height map. in its simplest form it X and Y coordinates ona flat plane with height and texture information for each point in space. it used to be a real bitch to work with and the community had to come up with some real clever ways to get around the limitations.
gzdoom however allows you to use real 3d geometry in 3d space with things overlapping. check out the golden souls 3 demo for some good examples. the pickups and weapons for example are voxels just like in the original blood engine.

UDV gives you a realistic visor HUD with damage indicators and much more. also gives you some nice options to add and customise fog into the game and to also make the overall ambient light much darker like in doom 3 or some shit.

UCD enables you to change default values like player damage taken, and enemy health.

so basically atm I'm playing KDITD on lowest difficulty and its absolutely fucking terrifying. imps can tear me to shreads easily if they spot me before I spot them, especially if they stalk me on the ceiling. pinkies are almost always terrifying, especially the variants that can't be kicked / cc'd as easily. if you don't take cover when fighting even a single zombieman and play tactically you end up losing a shit ton of hp which fucks you over for the rest of the map. its 100% a new beast and as I keep repeating, makes the game terrifying, also really makes you live up to the moniker of "too angry to die" because it will PISS you the fuck off but you'll refuse to give up.

essentially it's Quake with limited lives, with levels arranged continuously rather than episodically, with optional AI changes and some other minor differences.
aside from arcade cabinet specifics, the engine is basically glquake with some additions (like scr_invert), but I couldn't change the resolution using the usual ways.
I've included the Sonic Mayhem soundtrack, since there are hints that it was supposed to be used with the game. I don't know if all software can mount flac as CD with equal success - figure it out.
tested on win10_64, win7_64 and win7_32. the real test would have been on win95, but I can't be bothered.

First, tell people if your level has difficulty settings implemented, and what compatibility (vanilla, limit-removing, boom, etc.). I know it may seem obvious to you but skill 2 was so difficult that I was certain there were no difficulty settings implemented and that I was playing on UV, so I dropped it down to skill 1. There's 40 minutes of playtime in the skill 2 demo and a 20-minute playthrough on skill 1.

You will already see in the demo, but skill 2 is way too difficult. It's not immediately obvious what is best to remedy this without breaking your vision of the level. I think adding a backpack at the start would go a long way. I'm not sure what you should replace the secret backpack on skill 2 with, though - maybe one box of bullets and shells and rockets each.

The number of different actor types is limited, which is why you need ZDoom to add more monsters - unless you do clever things like turn a torch into a monster (can't remember who did this) or turn a pillar into a monster like in Hell Ground. I got the idea it was more so a driving force for the player/Duke, in that the idea of women in general being captured by aliens for breeding with is horrifying in of itself, let alone the fear of that adding to the intention of eliminating the human race as well. Even with the mechanic where killing the women would spawn in enemies as a form of punishment; it's not trying to go for this whole "WUMAN ARE EPIK DRNRNRNRNRNRNR" thing, it's a legitimate thing to worry about on several levels pertaining to the human race overall.
I think it would've been cool though to be able to save them like in Duke 64 though, cus it would've added more to the whole "a hero is you" vibe of Duke 3D. Maybe incorporating a score system of some kind for the game in general, and more babes you save the more points you get. There could've also been a risk factor where if you save them the game still spawns in enemies to test your skills and reflexes, especially considering most of the time when you come across captured women it's usually during a cool down period in the map where you don't fight aliens for a prolonged period of time. At least, it would've been more engaging and interesting than to just have the enemies spawn in if you kill the women which I do anyway for the sake of level completion.

Well look at Demon of the Well, he's not a speedrunner but is known for making FDAs both blind and familiar, he has an exceptional ability at conquering maps on his first attempt, the most prominent example I can think of is rdwpa's MuMe.wad. Does that mean he cheats? Certainly not, he's a talented player who obviously has a high level of playing ability. So why would you think my speedruns are cheated, when their are fellow speedrunners who have demonstrated extraordinary playing ability, do not stream and have surpassed my demos? I have not shown jealously or malice towards fellow speedrunners who have surpassed my demos but silently congratulate and admire their accomplishment, in some cases publicly such as when Ancalagon went back and re-ran Combat Shock in response to when I beat his old runs. Basically, episode 1 (maps 1-10) is easy, so play that on UV.
E2 is medium, so lower the difficulty if you need to - note that E2 starts off really hard (maps 11 and 12) if you don't know the routes, but the rest of the episode isn't hard.

Why are Iron Liches the most pathetic shit. Even wads that try to spruce up the enemies and make them more dynamic still can't seem to make the Iron Lich an enemy worth fighting. The only time they're remotely challenging is the first time you fight them, when there's 3 sitting in the lava pool with a very thin ring around them to run.
