Are you intentionally being retarded? I mean I want to know who's buying them and who's scanning them. This is time consuming and costly but it seems someone is doing it. I know of all the major guidebook scanning projects and these books don't come from there. There must be another project underground that I'm not aware of. Maybe it's on usnet? Maybe it's a Japanese guy himself releasing these underground?

Nothing 13dl posts are unique. Everything is copied from somewhere. Most of what they take is from e-hentai but there's a few sources I'm not aware of for the rest.

I can just go to ebay and just buy these right now. These are like 20-50 each and rare ones way more. That starts to pile up. For a few years I've seen these guides pop up online on Japanese sites and seemingly no source and no one taking credit for it.

Due to harsh copyright law few Japanese people release scans or do scans. Most of the time it's foreigners.

There's a bunch of western groups like retromags, and several on internet archive. Then there's the Chinese forum where a single lady scans mecha books. She's responsible for like 90% of gundam books scanned in the last 6 years.

There's another type that's old Japanese scans. There's services in Japan that digitize magazine collections but because of copyright laws few are shared. The ones that do leak, leak over what's called "Perfect Dark" P2P program. These scans will stand out because they're kind of utliitarian in their scanning, with little touch up. they have low contrast and usually 50 MB file sizes. Pic related is an example.

These SS/PS books that have popped up in the last few years seem to be new and they're much more polished than the old Jap scans. they're all done in the same style (same file names, same order of where to put flaps, etc) that I think they're the same person or group. There might be a Chinese or baidu forum somewhere scanning these.

Also never forget scanbro, who scanned both SMW Ape guides (de-binding all pages individually for real HQ scans) and posted them on /vr/, pretty sure those scans aren't anywhere else on the internet. Wherever you are man, you're a /vr/ hero.

7 has got good scans, but Chrono Cross and 8-9 have shit scans. Ultimania is also their guidebook series os it's way bigger than just FF but sadly few have been scanned.
