but I'm still mad I grew up all theese years and still can't know for certain what exactly happened with the franchise's story, given how much i love it

The "second game" is just a Street Fighter 2 Turbo-esque update. The plot is unchanged in the update, except for the addition of two new characters running around in the story. But both of them just want to kill the rest of the cast, so they don't actually affect the plot much.

Yes. Both VH2 and VS2 are 100% non-canon and only exist for gameplay purposes. When you beat either of them, you just get a generic wall of text about how Jedah/Pyron has been defeated regardless of which character you use (unless you actually use the boss characters, in which case it does change slightly).

I don't think they are committed to any real solid storyline as the story presented is just the framework for the setting of the game and maybe interactions between the characters. With the large roster of characters, all of which is the main character of their own story, it is probably best to market the games this way as different people could main/use different characters. There's rooting interest for each as they did take the effort in designing them all.

The best way to understand the Darkstalkers canon is probably the UDON comics.

I really despise the fact that 2 has better gameplay than 1 but they changed the default palettes to ugly non-canon ones

The "Demitri holding a tournament" thing was one of those localization liberties of the old days as far as I can tell. None of the Japanese guidebooks from the time say anything like that.

It's also worth noting that almost all of the text for both winquotes and endings in these first two games was completely rewritten in localization and bears little resemblance to the Japanese text. For example, Victor's localized ending implies that the professor who created Victor was killed by the local villagers, when the original Japanese says nothign of the sort, and Japanese guidebook lore sections say he died from the lightning strike during Victor's activation experiment.

Everything else is irrelevant, along with Jedah playing Thanos for a chump in the board-unrelated crisis crossover.

The human inside him was a good guy to begin with. They even show that in the OVA after the battle with him. The cursed armor and sword are what turned him into a bloodthirsty demon.

I thought Tekken had a pretty coherent story... At least til I stopped playing them, with the release of Tekken 4.
