Recommendations for some dark games? Dark in themes, story, atmosphere (Gothic, gloomy, so on) and genre (RPGs, Horrors, Platformers, Shooters, anything will do) and so on. I love retro games but find they tend to struggle with 'darker' stuff in general, 8/16 bit in particular.

man... that's a name that brings back memories. Totally agree. Looks bright and happy and like a playstation version of LttP, and then it just gut punches you, and tosses your ass into the deep end of the feels. Especially J and S... I was not ready back then for that.
