There was so much potential. They could have had
the Sony Cat
Coleco Hampster
Sega Duck
Nintendo Rabbit
NEC Horse
Mattel Porcupine
Atari Swan
Commodore Moose
and so on. Why dis they screw this up when there was so much potential?

Well, Atari did sort of try that with the Lynx and Jaguar. And Bandai had the Wonderswan. None of them really took off though, unfortunately.
