>he unironically prefers the American Sonic CD OST over the Japanese OST
There are so many retards in this world.

Because a few of the US tracks are unironically better.

I don't even remember the JP version of Metallic Madness Present, but I can guarantee it didn't have anything as moving as the above version's soaring electric guitars.

Typical American.

You mean typical rock n' roll fan, Eurocuck. And I just refreshed my memory about what the JP version sounded like, and while I'll freely admit it's more Sonic-like, it's also forgettable 90s dance music.

idk man, it's pretty close.

The lyrics go "Toot toot, Sonic Warrior", Eurocuck.

TOOT. TOOT.
SONIC WARRIOR.

Between that and the "rap" verses I couldn't write dumber sounding Engrish if I tried.

>> No.6506103

It's funny you post an image of Dragon Ball. In both instances I had to come to accept there's no accounting for taste. Some people just hear shit differently than you do.

My first exposure to CD was with the Burgerland music but I played Sonic 1-3 a lot before then so maybe that colored my expectations of what Sonic music 'should' sound like because the Japanese music sounds far and away better to me in all instances except maybe Tidal Tempest.

you can do anything is ripped straight up from sonic 2 sms and the vocals are trash.

This but unironically.
That's not to say I don't like JP version, I just like the sound direction of the US version more in places.
>>6506063
Bad take because MM present JP is pretty jamming (though I like US present for different reasons. A shame it doesn't have an "extended" version like the Nilsen tracks).

>> No.6506290

I much prefer the JP/EU OST but the US OST has a couple bangers.

Sonic is Dragon Ball Z furry fanfiction.

>> No.6506513

>>6506374
Besides a couple of ripped off concepts like Super Sonic and Silver they aren't really that similar
Also a lot of stuff ripped off Dragon Ball

>> No.6506587

JP OST was much more energetic and up-beat.
US version had nice ambience but it really doesn't fit a fast-paced platformer as well as the Japanese version.

I like both OSFT's for what they bring to the table

I do agree that the boss themes are more bad than good, but the US ost brings a tone shift to an otherwise peppy game about time travel

It was best in Sonic Chaos when they twisted it into Mecha Green Hill.
