This might be a stupid cash grabber for you guys, but I've hacked my Neo Geo Mini with 114 games. It's life, with the addition of a power bank. I don't care for the criticism of button mapping and no clicky controllers. I love SNK/Neogeo and always wanted to play it without using a PC and raspberry pi. Especially the sports games and the KOF/Fatal Fury/AOF/Shock Troopers series.

I won't make defenses for the "story" but I think the game has some nice atmosphere. The stages are all very lived in and great and the way it tracks your player on the map screen as you travel the city is cool. Wilder is dumb though.

Nothing went wrong. It's great. It simply doesn't play like a traditional 2D fighter. If you try to go in and play it like Street Fighter or Fatal Fury you're missing the point entirely. It's got it's own flow and pace and if you can get into that mind set the game is a lot of fun. It's almost like a 2D 3D fighter.

Yea, that Storyline was garbage and the wins didn't feel rewarding. But god-like animation, so much yes. They would've been better calling it "Art of Fighting: Gaiden" like it was on the Japanese version. Just a side story that should have at least made Yuri and a few other originals playable.

Something I always really loved about SNK fighters pre KOF was their maps/settings. It always felt like they were creating a world were characters actually lived in rather than just shuttling you off to vague locations in China or the USSR, which are giant ass places that don't tell me shit. It's not just nondescript Japanese temples or bathhouses. It's actually city streets, beaches, bars. Places you can imagine the characters being in their off time. It just made things feel more personal and real. Even AOF3 got this right with how it had the player treck through mexico.
