Kind of sad how the N64 and Saturn wouldn't be able to handle it so they didn't get ports. Then again with all of the transparency effects no wonder the Saturn couldn't even come close lmao. This was another game that was for Playstation Chads only.

Wow, this post made me realise that the PSX kept getting games even into mid-2002

psx games through 2000-2005 were an odd but great journey.

there were a couple of good games still in 2002 for the psx, but there were releases right up until the end of 2004

but why if ps2 was already out and could run ps1 games natively?

because the ps2 was expensive
when the ps2 came out, they re-released the psx in a smaller and cheaper form, the PS-One
i got a psone in 2000 when they came out, at the time the ps2 was something like $699
iirc the psone cost me $160. no regrets

You underestimate how poor people can be
I was born in a third world country and we had our n64 up until the ps3 was announced in 2005 when ps2 prices fell we were able to buy one and played until the ps4 was announced.

>> No.6500867

>>6500765
that's exactly why, ps2 owners can run these games anyway while poorfags (usually kids who would get old consoles passed down from their older brothers) could still get new games

>> No.6501057

>>6499295
If enough people still own the console and are still buying games for it, companies aren't going to pass up a buck.

Like for fuck sake the Wii is STILL getting Just Dance games.

>> No.6501226

>>6500819
N64? I doubt that console was popular in third world as its games couldn't be pirated as easily as the PSX's CD-ROM games, same with GameCube, I am Venezuelan and I have never seen one, nor I have seen original PS2 games.

>> No.6501285

>>6501226
Here in chile the n64 was more popular than the ps1 atleast until maybe 2002. we mostly rented the games tho

>> No.6502374

>>6501226
Well Nintendo was always really popular in Mexico and the n64 was more popular than the ps1 at least where I lived up until the ps2 came out, but we couldn't afford one so I was stuck with the n64 until 2005

lolno, the PS2 was around $300 when it came out, you're thinking of the PS3, which still wasn't quite that much. ($599 US DOLLARS)

it's in dollars, just not US dollars
i didn't bother saying which kind of dollars, because it wasn't relevant, the point was how much cheaper the psone was by comparison

Leafs don't matter(kys), every other country is irrelevant or uses us$ meaning United States dollar.

>> No.6502467

>>6502460
even if they were using us$, the price of a playstation in us$ in a non-US country would still be substantially higher than in the US itself.
you probably weren't getting a PS2 for $300 USD in Panama, even though Panama uses the USD and the price in the USA was $300.
