Aconcagua specifically is a remarkably and atrociously bad adventure game with a shitty story. Giftpia is okay but not better than the company's other games.
Also surprised the list didn't include Mizzurna Falls, another terrible game with a generic story that reached meme status by non-Japanese readers

PSX version

>> No.6490602

>>6489743
I played through it a couple months ago. While not terrible, I definitely wouldn’t recommend it for the combat. The dungeons are pretty sparse and the combat is pretty run of the mill. There was one dungeon that was just a train tunnel that you ran right for 14 panels and then ran back out left for another 14. Only the run out had enemies though.

That said, the game is pretty short and oozes charm. It’s broken up into chapters, but you can explore almost the whole world map from the beginning. My Japanese is pretty shit, so I’m sure I missed out on some of the side quests and characterization, but I still thought the cast and world were great. It’s definitely worth checking out if you ever get the chance.

It did. Then the Goemon situation happened and affected multiple projects from this series, this included. If someone wants to translate it, I can extract the text data.
There's a forth project for TM:IV that's like 10% done on some Saturn community but it's infected by the same HG101 plant handling Magical School Lunar, and bragging about censoring it, because Tom (then the target of an ongoing witchhunt) did a superior translation patch for a Game Gear version of the same game. This can absolutely be played as a first entry in the series and it is apparently suited to RPG first-timers as well.
