I'd say Unity because more than half of the skills in the original game don't work as intended.

Unity runs better on modern computers, has a bunch of bug fixes and extras stuff that makes it better than the original.

That looks like an actual town unlike in most RPGs where you only visit small villages composed of 3-4 small houses.
Although I do agree those towns feel kinda devoid of life when you actually walk through them.

>> No.6492070

>>6491960
The towns are huge, but some are just a few houses and a tavern. Everybody can be talked to and gotten information from. Some info is about holidays or royalty and sometimes they won't tell you shit. You have a choice to talk to people bluntly or polite and stuff. As much as the side quests are generic, every once in a while you'll get a great quest. I once had to deliver a diamond to somebody, only for it to become a murder mystery. This game is great and it helps to visit other provinces, they are fairly different in style and layout. And now that it's in unity, you can mod like any other TES game. I think in a few years it will be one of the best elder scrolls games. I'm probably going to write a bunch of extra quests and NPC dialogue. I hope more people add to the game, because it needs all the love it can get.

I prefer classic just because it has that comfy as fuck DOS rendering. Even playing Unity on 320x240 feels off a little bit. Another big plus is the fact MIDI works so I can use my MT-32 on it or any sampler I want.

True, the rendering in unity is very different, that's the only thing that I don't like about it. Maybe there is a way to change that, I'm not sure.

Arean is a steaming hot turd. LITERALLY unplayable late game, and you end up needing to buy over THREE FUCKING HUNDRED heal true potions if you plan on not getting stuck in a vicious rest fight rest fight rest fight loop. Don't get me started on how fucking retardingly overpowered late game creatures are as well. I was a fucking level 25 character with 100 in luck, strength and agility, and those fuckers would always fucking butt rape me. FUCK THOSE HELL HOUNDS. Who the fuck came up with the brilliant idea of sticking those motherfuckers all the way down a hallway where they can launch 50 fire pellets at you (and thanks to the fucking HORRENDOUS tank movement) are unable to dodge? You literally end up having to try to fucking walk THROUGH the fire attacks so that you can even begin to swing at those fuckers, and by that time almost all your health is depleted WHEN YOUR FUCKING ALMOST LEVEL 30.
I'm almost positive they didn't even bother play testing it before releasing, or if they did, they played it for a few levels and then were "meh it just werks". The only god damn reason I even finished the game was because I was getting so infuriated that I didn't want some crappy as hell 50 year old game kick my ass that much - and not because of a lack of skill, but because it was horribly designed. I wanted to like the game so badly but HOLY FUCK now I know what it's like for parents to end up with sons or daughters that end up complete embarrassments and shame the family name.

>> No.6495995

>>6494874
Not really. Plus it's a little bit misleading saying that, because it's not any different then modding the original Daggerfall (just a lot easier). Everything has an ID which means if an object uses one and a mod has another thing using the same one, they'd be incompatible. It's not like modern Fallout or Elder Scrolls mods where you can use whatever mod you want and have everything more or less working together.

Bros how do i change the dosbox order from the all in one download? I moved all my game folders but now Daggerfall only runs if i open the loader that is in the game files. Arena doesnt have this problem for me. In my games folder I have a TES folder that has Arena, Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim and the entire Daggerfall game folder and it bugs the shit out of me

Cut out Arena, Morrowind, and Skyrim from the series, and you'd end up with only the good games. All the odd numbered games are pretty bad.

>Oblivion good

Shit taste confirmed. It was utter bland soulless shit at release, and it's utter bland soulless shit today. Not to mention literally broken, as the leveling system just straight up does not do what it is supposed to do (you can easily make the game harder by leveling up due to the incomprehensibly retarded scaling system).

Morrowind is the only truly good and inspired game in the entire series.

The dogs that spit fireballs/iceballs are a pain in the ass, yes. But overall I have to say that I think I enjoyed Arena more than Daggerfall, even though I can't say I really enjoyed my playthrough. At least I managed to finish it, which is more than I managed with Daggerfall (have fun wandering around retardedly large mazes that can take literally hours to finish, and where the objective may or may not have spawned due to bugs, which you'll never know, you just won't find the quest objective because it doesn't exist, and just wander around forever).

Morrowind is not good. Inspired - yes. Good - no.
It's horrendously broken in a way that no amount of modding can fix, and the NPCs are so dull and lifeless that even though it's not procedurally generated, it feels like it is. Unless you deliberately fuck up your character creation then play like a retard on purpose, after about 10 hours of gameplay, you'll find yourself levitating over a tedious brown mudscape searching for something interesting and challenging to do, and you won't find it.

>> No.6500736

>>6500148
No they don't, but having lots of buildings in a settlement doesn't equate to having lots of content to experience. All of this is generated by mathematical formulae, and is about as interesting as a minecraft would be if you couldn't break and place blocks.
