Nintendo came along and made the first ARPG that was actually GOOD. It superseded absolutely everything that came before it by such an insane margin that it is therefore not a ripoff. It is the basis for the ARPG genre because it set the standard by which all other games in that genre would be measured by.

The ultimate point is that Crusader of Centy came out in Zelda's wake and is thus rightfully compared with it accordingly. It is mediocre as a game and is further mediocre as a Zelda-style game.

Seethe all you want about your mid-tier Genesis game that sold poorly because it was mediocre, it won't change the fact that Zelda is the gold standard for the genre.
