Yoshi's cookie is pretty good VS., but I'm not a big fan of how some status effects fuck you over worse than others. It makes it feel more like a party game than competitive (but who gives a shit right its NES/SNES game from nearly 30 years ago)
Yoshi takes a few minutes to get into without hiking up the difficulty, but it's alright imo. What's the catch to the VS mode? I've seen videos and it looks like a race to a certain score or something?

Magical Drop's gameplay is very satisfying and the character design is pretty appealing. The series based more on speed and pattern recognition than making setups. Setups exist but they are usually smaller adjustments to the board than something like a large Puyo chain. It's also very fun multiplayer if you got someone of equal skill around.
Don't play Magical Drop V though.

And I want the Empress to hit me until I bleed
