Have you ever considered the possibility that Popful Mail (Sega CD) never really existed? That it was only seeded onto the internet recently as a pseudohistorical construction?

How hard could it be to infiltrate the admin staff at GameFaqs?

It is strange that for a game that so many people post here to say is their favourite ever from their childhood, I can google for some hours and not find a single map.
Only a very few discussions, in fact. On a small number of domains.

But wouldn't it be funny if there are very many more when you look.

I can honestly say that I have only heard about it very recently and perhaps? only on 4CHAN.

It's hard to discern between "the culture" and things which stood out to me. I can remember it being compared favourably to Monster Boy (The Good One), and apparently Popful has a vagina. I remember that part because I like vaginas.

I started playing it today and it's interesting that I found some results for a Popful Mail (SNES Version), but not what I was looking for.
I just find it funny because I often joke about having played every game in the SNES romset and I don't remember it even though this is possibly my favourite genre. But maybe it was added later.

Do people actually say it was 'their favorite ever from their childhood'? I hear a lot of people praising it but it's usually in the context of "I recently learned about this obscure game and I really like it".

I think it could have been a lot better though. I really like the atmosphere, the graphics, the fact that the protagonist is voiced by the same person as Lina Inverse from Slayers and shares her personality for the most part, but the gameplay is honestly a bit lacking. The levels are too long and kind of monotonous, probably by design because the game is overall not too complicated or hard but long levels make you more likely to mess up and get caught in a monster's multi-hit combo and lose half your HP just by running into one spider. Also, although Mail is capable of quick movement the game punishes you for trying to move too fast by making sure you can never see too far ahead due to the way the camera scrolls.

Let's just say that is something that was only slipped into the internet recently. Why does it matter? It's a game you can play now, on a SEGA-CD if you choose to do so, or on an emulator.

Yeah that’s right anon, what if I am? I’ve seen pills as big as two men, and I’ve had to break even them in half.

I worry about this sometimes. We just kinda treat server records like reality now and you hardly ever see anyone question it. Stuff that'll be treated like evidence in court could be fucked with by any nerd with access. Remember when that Reddit admin was changing the content of people's posts after they outed him as a pedo or whatever?
Meanwhile USAID built entire social networking platforms and pretended they were just some media company running them rather than literal government spooks trying to actively fuck with people's reality.

It has a 150+ revisions. You can check them out individually if you want. If you think wikipedia faked all of those at the request of Falcom, you really belong here.

wikipedia is a website anon, not a person

>>6454701
"we" objectively are
every single snowden/vault7/whatever leak resulted in absolutely zero change to how you personally use the web, anon. don't deny it.
sites that just straight-up publicly took literal CIA startup money are the biggest services on the web

at the same time there are people in this thread like you who get actually angry that anyone might question a wiki

OP here. Before anyone asks, I do think Mossad is behind Popful Mail. Teach the controversy.

I mean walking into a thread announcing that something that wasn't about you doesn't apply to you is kind of asking for it, isn't it?
I mean if you're demonstrably retarded like that I'm not sure what kind of benefit of the doubt you expect.

Since you want to make this thread about yourself so much, how do you feel about the 1994 Sega CD game "Popful Mail"?

Thanks /vr/; the corruption and usurpation of the people's authority by a bunch of unelected bureaucratic spooks is *totally* the same thing as some stoner's theory on Popful Mail being an alien psyop!

Me?
Oh, I see the misunderstanding. Well, there are several other people on this imageboard besides me who also post under the username "Anonymous". But we're all chums.

>>6460073
I think that was just a side conversation, you're confused.
But since you bring it up, what's the difference?

Don't videogame publishers routinely employ astroturfers to indiscriminately fuck with our platforms/discussions/reality for some hypothetical marketing benefit? Aren't they using the exact same tools as literal spook propaganda contractors to accomplish that?
