Too bad it's one of the only series that even has any. But at least it's a good series.

On a similar note, shame neither of the dungeon crawlers really feature the mess of races Shining has to offer tho, from what I recall it's mostly humans for those. And even more of a shame that the more recent releases just droped most of them completely. That Valkyria Chronicles like entry on the PSP would've been my dream come true if the game was actually in the same style to the Camelot ones, but as is it's just wasted potential.

Also sad that Feather was never translated officially or with a patch, it does look like fun, if also a bit overdesigned for the characters in places

I don't know, 1 doesn't have all that much QoL compared to the others but it was also really fun and I feel the character designs were better than in both 2 or 3, more coherent in a way.

I wish they could port, rerelease, or even remake 3 to modern platforms, but Sega being Sega they probably threw the source code in the garbage, like everything else that wasn't Sonic.

Hell if there's a remake a timeline sytem like I think they put in the recent Langrisser to go to sync points for subsequent playthroughs could also be useful.

the gaiden games weren't really great, the extra chapter was super mediocre, and the game really didn't take advantage of being on CD besides some shitty voiceovers ONLY at the beginning and end of each game. It'd be nice if they actually had more than two battle songs (one for every single battle in the game and another for the final battle) and maybe even give the separate chapters different music????? maybe??????

They were just a rerelease of the Gamegear games so some of that is understandable.
That and the soundtrack for SF was always a bit lacking in level variety.

Nah, CD only includes Gaiden 1 and 2, not Final Conflict (Gaiden 3). The game never left the Game Gear except for a pre-smartphone mobile port.
It's probably the Shining game with the most SFW fanservice. The MC is Kain's son, Mishaela comes back, Max and Oddeye join the party, etc

It's not very good. It was made by some b team members of the developer as a final curtain call for Shining Force 1 and the Gaidens (and connecting them to SF2) before moving on to a new era in the series timeline.

I got through Shining in the Darkness, Shining Force, Shining Force CD, Shining Force II, Final Conflict, now I'm up to Shining Wisdom and god damn the game really sucks. The guy swings the sword like a baby.
