reprint labels for cartridges.. is this a good idea or no?

>> No.638173

totally fine

why do you need reprinted labels to play games?

>> No.638903

So you can tell the games apart at a glance.

You could write on them with sharpie but that's ugly and takes longer to differentiate the carts you're looking at anyway.

Unless you regularly get hurricanes, rain isn't going to wash away dirt, dust, pollen, and bird shit that has been caked on for months.

Of course it's a good idea. Refurbishing games improves the quality of what would otherwise be a beat up, possibly ruined cart.

And who even gives a fuck if it's a little dirty? If it gos, it's good.

>> No.639019

They're a good idea if you want a reprinted label for your cartridge. Otherwise I'd say no.

>> No.639061

I don't really see the harm in making your games look better, just don't pass em off as official if you sell em.

thankfully don't have any carts I'd want to reprint, my Earthbound cart comes close with a couple nicks on the crease of the sticker but its fine.

Would love a paper print for my Phantasy Star 4 cart to fit an old genesis case, no printer good enough to pull it off.

>> No.639069

Yeah. I really want a few.
I'm not a collector, I just like games, so I don't mind a dirty or faded label but I've got a few cart where the label is just utterly trashed and it just looks like shit.
I'd love to at least have them not look vomit inducing.

Not if they censor it further. People are just going to say "original unedited version! Super Rare!" even though the game was already censored just to be on the SNES in the u.s. the first time.

I hope you're right, but this is drumming up more attention and it gets people talking, which usually leads to price spikes.

Allow me to play doubles advocate here for a moment. For all intensive purposes I think you are wrong. In an age where false morals are a diamond dozen, true virtues are a blessing in the skies. We often put our false morality on a petal stool like a bunch of pre-Madonnas, but you all seem to be taking something very valuable for granite. So I ask of you to mustard up all the strength you can because it is a doggy dog world out there. Although there is some merit to what you are saying it seems like you have a huge ship on your shoulder. In your argument you seem to throw everything in but the kids Nsync, and even though you are having a feel day with this I am here to bring you back into reality. I have a sick sense when it comes to these types of things. It is almost spooky, because I cannot turn a blonde eye to these glaring flaws in your rhetoric. I have zero taller ants when it comes to people spouting out hate in the name of moral righteousness. You just need to remember what comes around is all around, and when supply and command fails you will be the first to go.

Make my words, when you get down to brass stacks it doesn't take rocket appliances to get two birds stoned at once. It's clear who makes the pants in this relationship, and sometimes you just have to swallow your prize and accept the facts. You might have to come to this conclusion through denial and error but I swear on my mother's mating name that when you put the petal to the medal you will pass with flying carpets like it’s a peach of cake.

I think it is quite the opposite. If one is to sell them then yeah, those labels, if correctly done or sold to average gamers, work. If it is just to have one's own cartridges labeled then that sucks imo; I mean, I couldnt really see them the same way as if they had the original label... they'd be stained.

Not the same. You can refinish firearms that are most definitely NOT museum pieces or have no sentimental value, but a rusted-up Remington should be re-blued if one intends to use it. Fucked-up video games should be fixed up if the process won't ruin any value of the game. Like, you don't spray paint Nintendo World Championship gold if the finish is wearing, but you also don't have to leave the Guardian Legend slathered in sharpie-sauce with a masking tape label.
