As a former marketing hack, I can tell you that absolutely everything we do is driven by data. I didn't personally work in video games (CPGfag here), but I know the marketing departments of video game companies are just as cold and calculating as everywhere else. This is a multibillion dollar entertainment industry. They crunched the numbers and they decided that there are a lot of simps who will give them money, and simp spending is negatively correlated with "patriarchal" portrayals of women. At the end of the day, we don't give a shit, we have no morals, we just know that there are more of them than us, and that they will blindly spend their money so long as we push the right message.

Every day, people are doing this, reducing human beings to numbers and figuring out if they are worth selling to, and then getting their communications monkeys (who believe themselves "marketing professionals") to take care of the legwork. The Liberals Arts nonsense is just the facade you see. If only you knew how bad things really were underneath.
