ModLoader64 is an API that allows Nintendo 64 games to be modded with ease, and even add Online functionnalities to them.
It even comes with full Online mods for a bunch of games!

=== Installation ===

Once you have downloaded ModLoader64 from the official Github repository, simply extract it's contents in a folder that you will remember the location of, like a folder on your Desktop for example.

Next, open that folder, and double click on "modloader64 gui.exe".
It will launch ModLoader64 and create/configure necessary files for you.

Once you see the main launcher, close it, and go to the "ModLoader" folder.
Inside, go in the "roms" folder.
Place your .z64 roms in it, and make sure that you have a 1.0 NTSC rom for Ocarina of Time.

Once that's done, simply run "modloader64 gui.exe" again, and make sure to check your rom in the "Games" tab.
After that, head over to the "Mods" tab and make sure to check the mods that you want.

IF YOUR ROM DOESN'T SHOW UP, SIMPLY RESTART THE LAUNCHER!!!

=== Configure Controls ===

To configure your controller, head over in the "Config" tab in the launcher, and click on "Configure Controls".

From there, check the "Plugged" checkbox, and change "Device" to your controller.
Simply set the buttons as you see fit, and once you're done, close the "Controllers configuration" window.


=== Basic Usage ===

Head to the "General" tab of the launcher, and enter a username and lobby.
If you want to join your friends, make sure that you all enter the same lobby name.

To start the game and join your friends, click "Start" and enjoy!

=== Installing Mods ===

To install mods, go to the "ModLoader" folder.
Inside, go in the "mods" folder.

Simply download the mod that you want in .pak format and place it in the "mods" folder.

Restart the launcher, and the mod should appear in "Mods". Simple check it and start the game to use it.

Well the first public game for OoT had over 100 Players, the master server only neeeded 2GBs. The game itself shat the bed but was completed. Things have been optimized alot more since then

You download a pak file and you select it under mods, it activates and it works in game. All players do NOT need the model to see the model. So if you want a Second Life OC character that is yours and only yours you can do that

Patch a rom

Now in Modloader go config tab and click "Make BPS Patch", then itll ask to select a normal OoT Rom and your Rando Rom. And then it will spit out the patch file.

You now can delete your patched rom and throw that new BPS patch in your mods folder in Modloader and you can now select it in modloader as if it was a mod.

You now play rando, and if you want to play with friends you can just send the BPS patch

"Reverse engineering time and the local AI fighting against you.

You can see the AI fighting against the sync even with zero latency.
So we'd have to disable the local AI without removing the actor from play, which involves replacing its main function pointer with another one.
That part isn't super hard, but then the sync has to be flawless or things are likely to crash on more complex creatures.

Unfortunately it still seems to just close as soon as it finishes loading. I think the message log ended prematurely before I got the cores but it hasn't made any noticable impact. I've tried running both OOTOnline enabled and not and also with offline mode and not and it still seems to just close. Hey anons, so I installed ModLoader64 and it works fine, then I decided to download other mods such as model skins and plugins like the Custom Tunic Redux, as well as other cores and Online modes such as BK, BT, etc. While installing the skins was a piece of cake since you only need to drop the files into the mods folder, I can't for life of mine seen to be able to make the other mods work, I tried just dropping the files were it matched but it didn't work. I searched around to see if there's any tutorial of how to do it but it only shows regular ModLoaders not the OOT one, can anyone help?

That's weird, I thought that was all I needed to do as well, but the folders I downloaded had no .pak files, at least none of the cores, and normal BKOnline, etc, only the character models/skins have .pak which I was dumping on the "Mods" folder just as recommended.
Hence my confusion on what to do with the other mods, if they were supposed to have .pak as well, then I don't know why they aren't there, do I need to patch the entire folder or something first so that it can generate a .pak for it? Sorry for all the dumb questions, I just found out about ModLoader64, and after spending some time on the OOT Randomizer Multiworld, I'd rather see my friends when we play together.
