Use the torpedo launcher to swim faster. Just don't fire all the ammo, since you can equip it without ammo and extra torpedoes are non-existent.

I am not kidding you, as someone who knows every level like the back of my hand, there's no other way to beat the level unless you turn on cheats and warp to the next level.

In the remaster, the level has been significantly simplified, in top of the additions of quick save and objective markers (and a not shit framerate and draw distance). It's not too bad as it is on the N64 version. See the difference, left is the original, right is the remaster.

Look at this shit >>6385127, that's the original map.

4-5 is underwater tunnels with mostly dead ends (the ingame map does help here though)
4-8 has 3 branching parts that do not have any kinds of landmark or even stand out.
One of the paths that lead to one of objectives to beat the mission is hidden somewhere in 4-3.

Level 4 is a clusterfuck and I absolutely love it.

Yes, back then everyone just played Turok with cheats, the game was thought too unfair to play without them. Anyone that beat it legitimately would be seen as a god. I still think like this towards Turok Evolution.

And thank fuck for it, that level is a major example of how to not design an FPS level. Hilariously it isn't even that simplified, it's more that it didn't have twisting paths for the sake of twisting paths.

When I played this level, I accidentally skipped the death marsh level. So I went straight to this after level 2. I think it was actually my favorite level in this game, after Primagen's Lightship of course.
