Blues Brothers, by Titus. Everyone always talks about the terrible SNES Blues Brothers game, aka Blues Brothers 2, aka Blues Brothers: The Jukebox Adventure. But I have never heard anyone talk about this sweet Amiga and MsDOS Blues Brothers. There's also NES version which I never played, but according to gameplay I've seen it looks pretty good too.
Amiga version is the best.

Just looked this p.o.s. up, supposedly it was "well loved" in its community. I suppose that's somewhat credible, seeing as it had a random port onto the gameboy many years after its release. But I always hated this crap.

As a 9 year old, I wanted a game that was fun and snappy, so this was consequently the most horrible game in my collection. I'm not prejudiced against the genre either, I even had an unusual patience for adventure games at that age. But this shit was un-intuitive, unfathomable, and so obtuse that it was abjectly miserable. I could never figure out what in the fuck you were supposed to do, and never got more than a few screens in to the game before dying or being stuck.

What makes the memory even more sour is how close I came to getting a really cool different game, but ended up with this. My elementary school had a "toy swap" event day, where you could bring in toys and games that you didn't want, and could trade with other kids in class. There was this poor black girl in my class who was kind of retarded, but somehow she had this really badass gameboy (possibly gbc) game.

You controlled a gundam-esque robot, in a side scroller where you shot and destroyed other robots with missiles and I think even swords. IIRC for the time it was pretty standard gameplay, but for me it was the coolest shit I had ever seen.

The most popular kid in our class managed to trade some worthless pokemon card to the girl for it, which was a terrible trade for her, but she accepted. She was probably was just happy for the association to him.

She had one other gb game, Shadowgate, so I traded for it, so I could at least get ANY game. I really wish I knew what the robot game was. I haven't been able to figure it out in 20+ years.

Anyway. Fuck you, Christian, you didn't even need the robot game, you had so many gameboy games already. And fuck Shadowgate

I've played it, and I've played the other Legend Entertainment games as well. There was a thread about Sierra-LucasArts adventures not too long ago and people brought up the Legend Entertainment games as well. Superhero League of Hoboken just recently got rereleased on steam so I think it might be catching up some kind of new audience, even if small audience. I think anyone who's a fan of Monkey Island games and has that radical 90s sense of humor should check this game out.

My older brother had this hahaha. He was SUPER into street hockey at the time, early to mid 90s. He and his friends would try to buy the best wheels and blades for asphalt and buy pro sticks and those ball puck things. My brother used to actually dress like the guy on the cover too then, though he wasn't black and he at least had the decency to close his shirt.

Based discovery to find. I never had a similar experience finding stuff like that on a computer but my older cousin growing up was pretty into the early BBS and piracy scene and was using IRC mostly in the last 90s to get warez and roms. He would hook me up with piles of games on floppies at first, later on CD-Rs and first got me turned onto roms and emulators. I can still remember the first ROM I ever downloaded myself was, Pokemon Yellow for GBC. I was in high school at the time or about to be and I was secretly really into Red and Blue.

First MP3 I ever downloaded was from Napster and it was NWA - Fuck the Police because thats all a 14 year old me could pull off the top of his head. Seems fitting now though.

Played this a bunch after the copy of SML got sent through the washer

God what a shit game. Played a lot of shovelware on my SNES (Batman Forever, Chuck Rock, Choplifter III, and Star Trek DSP chief among them) but this takes the cake as hands down the worst game I ever played growing up. To be fair, I still had SMW, Star Fox, SMK, SGnG and few other absolute classics (and obvs Pokemon R/B) so there's still a lot of great memories
