Games with an old-school anime look?
It doesn't necessarily has to be based on some old anime, anything that captures that sweet art-style or aesthetic is greatly appreciated!

the best and easy answer almost any game released on the PC engine since most of the library is composed by those kind of games.

since you weren't specific i asumed you are searching for something with animation but if you want just anime games based games on old consoles the above is still the best but i will mention some games on other consoles.

It's amazing how they managed to squeeze this into a Famicom cartridge. Not much of gameplay there, but it wasn't easy to render all those fancy backgrounds on a console that was already eight years old and was designed to play Donkey Kong and Popeye at home. I wish that Metal Slader Glory could be longer or have multiple paths, but it's still damn good for what it is.
