I rented this so much, I eventually ended up buying the copy I rented from the local video store all the time.

This was a great rental. I don't think I ever beat it though. Great music.

How so? Were they cycling out inventory, or did you "lose" it?

You could just ask and they would let you buy it off them. I bought Mario Party 3 from Blockbuster, and I've seen other people mention doing the same with many other games.

Yeah they would cycle out inventory as the console generations changed. As N64 cartridges and Playstation games became more popular, they'd sell their old NES, SNES and Genesis rentals.

This game eluded me for years. Found it again a few years back and completed it. Great title.

It's funny how some of those cartoons managed to live on like they did. Even as a late-80s born kid I definitely remember watching Wacky Races in the 90s and not really thinking much about how old it was.

Looney tunes and tom & jerry too. In fact I'm willing to bet more kids got to watch em in the 80's and 90' than kids in the 50's.

what a coincidence I was just playing this today, it's pretty good and seems to be modeled after the ducktales games

I saw this so, so many times at my local Blockbusters and I finally gave in and played it.
It's a fun GunCon game (which the BB had one to rent as well.) The rabbit walks down paths and you gotta shoot shit that'll hurt/stop him.

Japan adored Wacky Races for some reason. The title theme is actually based on their version of the theme song.

Before digital animation and later widescreen there wasn't such a stark visual difference between newer and older cartoons.
