So I've been let go from my job due to being nonessential, not particularly feeling great now, I feel like playing something I've never played before. I got a Genesis-Everdrive X5 and a Sega CDX, looking to play some Master System games, of which I've only ever played Hang-On, Ghost House and After Burner. What are some Master System games worth playing?

The Sonics in the Master System are different than what you get in better consoles, very jumpy.
Alex Kidd in Miracle World came with every console and was good, in Alex Kidd Shinobi World is short but good.
If it has Mickey Mouse or Donal Duck it's good.
Phantasy Star has amazing graphics and it's good.
Ghouls and Ghost has a different armour mechanic that made it easier while being pretty much the Mega Drive version.
Fantasy Zone if you haven't played it somewhere else.
Golden Axe Warrior is a pretty ok notZelda.
Ninja Gaiden is different from the others, good and hard.
Wonder Boy games are also pretty good if you like exploration.
Psycho Fox is a bit special, but I loved it as a kid.

it kinda sucks but it does add in new weapons. Alex Kidd in Shinobi World is a legit good game.

The Ninja is a really good game, it's a port of Sega Ninja (arcade) with a more serious tone

Kenseiden and Master of Darkness are pretty ok Castlevania clones. The former can be pretty challenging though, and not in a good way

Sonic 1, 2, chaos, and blast. sonic 1 mostly tho. that game is so good and really different from genesis Sonic 1. Sonic 2 is too, but the difficulty turns alot of people off.

My favorite fighting game on the master system is masters of combat. It has some badass combo sequences in it and Enduro Racer is a fun bike racer.
There's a couple of decent master system homebrew games that I also recommend since you have an everdrive.

Rampart is not mentioned ofter but i like it. Its a mixture of tetris style fortress building and offensive phase where you shoot enemy ships. Not bad for an early strategy game.
