We should keep this retro though, but nah, I'd place Omega Factor much higher. Higher than SM at least for sure.

I'd say Ikaruga was their swang song. They had some good games after that like Astro Boy (co-developed) or Sin & Punishement 2, but it was after Ikaruga that they started to get less creative, and put more sequels out there. It felt like the end of an era.

Don't forget Treasure's best autoscrolling shooter, Gradius V.

You seriously think that art looks ok? If a 10-year-old girl draws that I'm thinking, "nice work, that's going on the fridge". If an adult man draws that I'm thinking "you're getting slightly better, Chris-Chan"

It's a good game (although I don't like Gradius very much) but it's just a sequel of a Konami series. I don't want to underplay the importance of it but it doesn't feel much "Treasurish" to me, even if it's very well done. That's why I still feel Ikaruga was the end of an era.

Does anyone know why Treasure supported the Xbox 360 so much?
It had
>the only port of Ikaruga on 7th gen consoles
>the only port of Guardian Heroes since the original Saturn release
>so far the only official Western release of Radiant Silvergun
>an exclusive Bangai-O game
It's strange to me that they'd show that much support for a console that did very poorly in Japan.

>> No.6278605

>>6278154
360 was considered the "hardcore gamer" console in Japan. It sold poorly compared to Wii and PS3, but remember it got all those shmups and danmaku as well. The demographic that would buy Treasure games was on 360 (in Japan).

Ah, makes a bit more sense. I remember a video by Adam Koralik where he mentioned the 360 was thought of in a vein similar to the Saturn in Japan by the people who owned one.

My top five would be Dynamite Headdy (their best platformer), Alien Soldier (their best run 'n gun), Bangai-O (their best multi-directional shooter), Sin & Punishment (their best 3D scrolling shooter), and Gradius V (their best 2D scrolling shooter).

It's funny how people think Treasure is dead when in truth it seems to be doing fine. Granted, I'm sure most of its member have other side-business, some of which might not even be video game-related. But by the looks of it, Treasure are taking their sweet time re-releasing everything they have. They can seemingly stay afloat with mainly Ikaruga re-releases.
It's not just weird that they aren't releasing Missily Fury, what about N64 and Dreamcast Bangai-O games? Those were published by ESP, which was a published that released independent works, so it's co-published by Treasure, basically, they own Bangai-O, it's one of the games that can be said to be 100% theirs, and IMO, their best series. Bless Yaida.
