"Oh, /vr/, my precious children. I have something to tell you... FUCK YGGDRASIL AND FUCK THE BROOD, ESPECIALLY ANY BUSTA ASS DRAGONIER-GERS NAMED RYU!"

the IV being a prequel theory doesn't make any sense unless Yuna lives to make more Endless, one of which becomes Myria

Reminder that Yuna living is brilliant and BoFIV's plot would be inferior without this aspect of the plot.

That's usually what fans of that theory claim in terms of how the games connect the games.

I don't have anything to back up that theory, but it makes sense by progression of time. Ancient China -> Bronze Era -> Medieval Era -> Industrial Era -> Modern. Also that as the games progressed, clan (animal) people got more and more rare and humans began to take a bigger share of the population, mirroring sort of what was happening to the Dragon Clan.

Yuna was shown to have made Endless in the past, it's not out of the realm of possibility that he was the "father" of Myria.

It's certainly a good way to encourage people to see both endings

I mean, I always just head canon that Myria kills him offscreen.

I loved Breath of Fire 1, but 2 just felt like a slog to me, especially around the end.

Maybe I just haven't played it in a long time, but 2 didn't feel like it had all that much "drive" to me. By that I mean it didn't give a strong narrative reason for you going around doing what you're doing, you just seem to wander from place to place and occasionally recruit someone new by helping out with a local problem they're facing.

With one, you had the keys to Tyr's prison and the Dark Dragons looming over your head the whole time, but in 2, St. Eva takes a sinister backseat to most what you do until the end of the game.
