Everyone talks about how Mario 3 is a stage performance, but I've never seen anyone point out that the overworld is a board game.

Are we doing "lyrics we imagined to vr tunes"? If so you missed out a "jingle bell".

Also if so, on the first level of Turok 2 there's a sort of call-and-response between what sounds like cello and violin. I would always go "happy holidays, happy happy holidays" on the violin bit.

I remember on another forum ages ago, someone wrote that they would sing "it was a cold, cold Christmas eve, you were there, waiting for me" on the flute part of the Yoshi's Island cave music.

I had a friend who would sing "with every step I take, I fall down in the water, with every step I take, I fall down in there too" to the SMW water level music.

He would also sing "the sun has got his hat on..." to the Yoshi's Island music for "Hop Hop! Donut Lifts".

That first part fits the opening notes, but you remember anything else?

I had a friend who owned a Sega Genesis. And every so often I would sleep over at his house and bring my SNES and Tetris Attack. Whenever one of us would play Yoshi we'd sing (to Yoshi's theme)
>Let's play Nintendo
>Let's play Nintendo
>Let's play Nintendo
>We'll have lots of fun
>Let's play Nintendo
>Let's play Nintendo
>Let's play Nintendo today
(repeat 1x)
>No more Sega
>Throw it in the trash can
>Let's play Nintendo and have lots of fun!
>Let's play Nintendo, let's play Nintendo
>Let's play Nintendo today!

And to this day I can't play Tetris Attack or even hear that song in Yoshi's Island without singing that in my head.

He would make the rest up - usually of an edgy, profane nature. I can't remember the details.

I've never played Tetris Attack - is it the lullaby that plays when you fire up Yoshi's Island? The words seem to fit.

I remember having lyrics to the boom boom boss fight that started "I AM BOOM BOOM". I can't remember the rest of the words, but it was Boom Boom singing about how he was going to kill Mario.

A friend in school used to sing "continue" over the last 3 notes of the Game Over jingle in SMB3.

Yep, that's it exactly.
