If I click really really fast, I can start a game with the default settings on the first scenario that is listed. Not that it helps since I get the same problem there anyway immediately.

Happens in the starting cutscenes if I wait for it to talk about the history of Erathia, happens on the main menu or any submenu a couple of seconds after loading the game, and does it in game too if I just just instantly.

What do?

Casters grow stronger as the game goes on, but some fighting ability is helpful for newer players as having enough hp to survive will help a lot. Knights are trash tier because Paladins get every ability Knights do plus healing, and running KKKK is intentionally adding a challenge. Once you know the game the low hp pools aren't as much of a concern and you can shortcut toward mid and end game content more easily where Sorcerers and Clerics pull way ahead due to how absurdly powerful high level Shrapmetal (dark magic) is. CCSS is probably better than CSSS even if you know the game due to instagib effects, but basically it's the idea to get to dark magic and then smash 1 button all the way until endgame (with occasional healing). CSSS is the comp to run if you choose dark side in MM7 though.

some of the most basic early-mid game setups after you get your tier 6 + castle at least, but preferrably try to get tier 7 asap always
>master gremlins + rest of slots filled with fodder and 1-stacks of master genies to pile up buffs on the MGs (you are aiming go get bless, precision, frenzy etc.)
>naga queen upgrade if you went nagas+citadel/castle in week 1 and want a sizable mostly self-reliant powerstack for week 2
>titans obviously
put off upgrading
>gargoyles, their stats are meh either way, unless there's a level 2 dwelling nearby and/or lots of shooters, but usually a low priority
>golems, you aren't generally creeping early on with slow units
>magi, they have good stats but their primary use early on is for -2 mana cost to all spells to the hero, just one mage is enough for that, bonus persists even after your sole mage dies (but prevent him from dying anyway)

Dungeon's ramp up tends to focus around
>a massive powerstack of Troglodytes, particularly if Shakti is a starting hero; they're liable for an upgrade to Infernals early
>alternatively, in HotA only (due to the improvements across the board to level 2 specialists and a buff to Harpy Hags specifically), if you have Lorelei, or if there's a level 2 dwelling nearby (but remember your Portal of Summoning), you can go with mass Harpy Hags and use them for hit'n'run tactics
>otherwise your curve will most likely be to rush Manticores ASAP and run around with a powerstack of Troglodytes while Mantis serve as blockers
>if you are relying on Resurrection tactics do not upgrade Dragons
>try to avoid flagging bad dwellings; only flag dwellings after you know the map in order to abuse the Portal of Summoning; Shakti's starting army (120+ trogs or so) can, for example, take on the guardian of the Red Dragon dwelling if there's one nearby
>Dungeon doesn't really have any "must-have" upgrades (Hags, perhaps, and also if you're using Mantis a lot for blocking, Scorpis have +4 speed and paralyze on-hit) and depending on the game or template you might be better served trying to build up your mage guild or cheesing extra level 7 units from the Portal of Summoning.
Upgraded Chapel of Stilled Voices is super cheap and doubles the shot capacity of your Medusas, so you might as well throw it in.
I like Minotaur Kings a lot, especially since they tend to not die and they accumulate a lot under your quick Castle.

>Swamp
That's Fortress.
Pointers for Fortress are generally:
>upgrade your Dragon Flies early, and use them on scouting heroes, giving you a super cheap flying unit for a shitload of movement points. Later on, use 1-stacks of Dragon Flies to cast Weakness and Dispel, take away retaliation, block shooters, etc. - they're extremely versatile units!
>do not rely much on units from other towns (from a secondary hero in tavern) for fodder because Swamp's movement penalty will destroy you outside of a road
>get Wyverns quickly; you might want to upgrade Gnolls and/or Lizards first (the latter particularly in HotA due to aforementioned level 2 buffs across the board making Wystan a decent starter), but do make sure you get Wyverns
>once you get Hydras they can solo a lot of encounters, primarily against melee units due to their non-retal multi attack and beefy HP. With the massive Defense stat gains and Hydras you have a very good way to conquer Dragon Utopias
>do get Gorgons but don't necessarily use them for creeping early on; stockpile them and turn them into Mighty Gorgons after you have level 7 dwelling + Castle; MGs are your primary beefy unit killer due to Death Stare
>if the map is rich in Dragonfly Hives (as modern multiplayer templates often are), Fortress is the only town that can reliably upgrade the rewards to Wyvern Monarchs, which, when massed that way, are a formidable powerstack; along with your dwelling, you will always have more Wyverns than your non-Fortress opponent in the final fight in a typical 1v1 MP setting
>if you're struggling with early game as Fortress (understandable due to their defense emphasizing trading, but when creeping early on you'd prefer not to take losses in the first place) try to pick Drakon or Bron; Alkin has slightly better tempo early on too due to starting with Offense; in HotA, Wystan is very good; Tazar is one of the ultimate late-game heroes

Cool stuff, there's a map I'm looking for but can't remember the name of. Inferno:
>one of the primary difficulties they have is their lackluster ramp-up; the starting heroes aren't exceptional in general. Ignatius might help curve that out (Imps suck compared to Goblins and Gnolls though), and in HotA, Calh is a good starter (level 2 heroes buff across the board, yada yada). Fiona is an okay starter solely for Scouting and faster Hellhounds, but in general, Inferno is one of those towns desperately looking for a better main. HotA further makes rushing to upgrade Magogs better (because you can aim the fireball AoE). If you're desperate, Marius or Nymus.
>Only upgrade Demons after you're done Demon farming (Pit Lords turn fallen units into Demons on a 1:1 HP basis, e.g. 9x4 HP imps = 1x35 hp Demon), so right before the decisive battle of the game. Same principle as with Skeletons in Necro. Get as many dwellings as possible for fodder.
>Artifacts that grant +HP are super beneficial to demon farming, making it more cost-effective.
>If you're heavy into demon farming, feel free to sacrifice your own units up to tier 3. Cerberi are a poor man's Wolf Rider (squishy, yet more expensive and less effective at bursting people down), so it's up to you if you want them.
>After your level 7 + Castle is done, upgrade your Pit Lords obviously - you need them for demon farming.
>Efreeti are your workhorse unit early on; get them ASAP and use them to block shooters and burst things down.
>Devils might be unimpressive level 7 units, but their non-retal flying means you can take on shit like Legion of Dendroid Soldiers with a single unit. You will develop carpal tunnel and your multiplayer partner will fall asleep, but it's possible. Fast non-retal and cheesy spells (particularly Force Field) let you take Dragon Utopias with relatively few losses, too. Abuse Devil mobility ALWAYS.
>On really long maps or XL maps, Ayden is great.

>> No.6238305

>>6238262
>>6238286
And if you're a casual player who can't be bothered to figure out Demon farming and just want to crush some original maps, just rush Efreeti+Castle and get Devils while looking for a different hero in tavern (Barbarian, Overlord, Elementalist, something better than Demoniac/Heretic). As is worth emphasizing, Devils/Archdevils can pull ridiculous bullshit on their own, especially with Expert Slow support and spells like Force Field. But they're kind of a glass cannon faction in that sense, and will generally lose in a straight up fight, so in general, you should be looking for tricks with Inferno. If you luck out into getting Berserk or Armageddon, you just might win with that.

1: How do I level up spells / magic spec / skills in general? I stumbled upon how to level up, though I've yet to figure out how to apply skill points on anything (or even what I should use them on).
2: Anywhere or anything I should be doing? I followed the pastebin to learn bows and have been kiting my way through the goblins and apprentice mages in the area, though I came across a massive group of mages in the SW and noped the fuck out.
3: Came across a bunch of houses teaching "expert" magic, though I apparently don't meet the qualifications or anything. What do I need to do?
4: The pastebin says to turn off run, what's the hotkey or whatever to do that?

Ah fine, let's try out one more.
Stronghold, because it's less straightforward than it seems:
>you are almost certainly starting with 4 attack, so abuse the shit out of it; no matter what you do, use that Attack. Notably, you have the best Ballista hero in the game; if you want a low-maintenance self-reliant hero, Gurnisson is fun to start with. Eliminating an enemy stack in one shot means that stack can't retaliate against you and punch you in the dick.
>although common knowledge is to rush Rocs and Behemoths, it often might be better off to pick up Goblins and Wolf Riders first. They are both insanely potent units with your attack rating, and HotA buffs Tyraxor even more (he was already solid in SoD). Rocs and Behemoths don't pack a raw punch quite yet and Behemoth feels super fragile against lots of shooter stacks, so you can delay them just a little bit; your ultimate goal is still as many dwellings as possible (usually except Cyclopi) + Castle.
>protect your Wolf Riders. Stronghold is strong, but optimally somewhat challenging because losing units to unlucky morale or mistakes hurts bad. Always take retal off before attacking with Wolfs and save them, it will pay off because they provide insane burst damage.
>Upgraded Ogres are formidable walkers (comparable to Minotaurs), but not a priority upgrade.
>Upg. Rocs is cheap and Thunderbirds are a super strong utility unit that packs a good punch. One of prio upgrades after Gobs and Wolfs.
>usually skip Cyclopi due to their steep crystal cost unless it's HotA. They can be an interesting unit if you are swimming in Crystals, but usually, when in doubt, go Behes.
>BMs are basically Barbarians with slightly worse physical stat growth in exchange for a spellbook, innate access to Water Magic (a detriment or boon depending on meta; in MP you usually want Earth+Air, but in SP water grants fantastic buffs, and in both situations Water counters strong debuffs).

One character is your water magic specialist. Get it to level 12 immediately, including horseshoes. Poison Spray will do solid damage for it's cost (just run right into the enemy hitbox and all the shots will hit) and Ice Bolt can chase down runners (plus enchant item for utility). Once you get master the game gets a ton easier. Your second elemental caster should be going up in air to at least expert. If you chose a Sorcerer keep dumping air magic and use Sparks as your main damage spell. If it was an Archer instead you have plenty of options, such as master sword for double attacks, identify, disarm, or even expert fire for better torch light. Your Cleric should be going into Body magic and using Cure Wounds once you get some skill points.

There are more elemental spells in Mist, but the top spells are in Free Haven (they cost a fortune, but get a lot more reasonable if you pick up the merchant and duper in the city). The main ones you want are Lloyd's Beacon and Town Portal in the water guild and Fly in the air guild.

As for the snakes, that is covered in the pastebin. Hit and run with bows for basically everything. If they get too close you can always turn around, leave turn based combat, run, and re-enter. Turning does not take any time in turn based combat.

I see armor and shields in MM6 as basically pointless, it slows down attacks and gives too little defense for too big of investment. I just wear high tier helmet-gauntlets-boots-cloacks and cast mastered Hour of Power.
Give everyone fist level in merchant, it costs only money and influences prices for training and learning new skills. Always train party in training centers and buy costly things with duper and merchant in party. Eventually give everyone master bodybuilding and meditation. Give everyone lvl 1 learning as quickly as you can, but mastering it isn't really that important, in endgame you can basically dump gold in a well every day in exchange for xp.
Giving to someone repair and identify and mastering them eventually is just convenient. If you have spare skillpoints, giving everyone expert perception will help in avoiding trap damage and isn't all that costly.

It's a good-tier town, not unanimously among the very best, sometimes the meta (depending on templates and flavor of the month) shines on it, but it has a similar difficulty to Stronghold where it relies on extremely fragile, but hard-hitting units to do objectives early on, and losing your Nymphs to morale or mistakes hurts a lot. Captains are generally decent heroes, but not Barbarian or Overlord tier. Ayssids are interesting as the best duelist type among its tier 7 brethren as it will beat all of them in a straight fight (although the other tier 7s may have better utility). MM6 guy here, by the way:
How do you get the better buffs like "of the Unicorn" or "of the Gods"? I've not seen anything better than +5 / +5 stats or +12 to one on a ring yet.

Would using better quality items help me? The level of my Water Magic? Upgrading to Master WM?

If none of those help, apparently doing it at noon / midnight helps and so does luck, but I've upgraded my luck by 17 or so points while doing it at exactly noon and seen zero difference in the quality I've been getting. As for phases of the moon which is apparently important, I've yet to figure out how to tell what phase it is.

>I don't know what faction I am playing as
Name one unit type you're able to buy and I can give you some slightly more specific tips from that as I'll be able to figure out what faction you're playing as.

Until then, here's some incredibly newbie tips:
You want two heroes to start, buy a second on the first or second day if you can.
The creatures that block the early areas (like the lumber mill and ore mine) are generally the weakest ones and you should beat them easily enough. The rest is a matter of learning what unit can do what so you only take on the fights you can win.
A simple strategy you can use is to get one / several small stacks of shooters (ranged units) with something to meat shield / clean up for them. If the opponent is a group of slow moving melee units that shouldn't be too hard to win, fast moving melee units and fliers are harder, and if the stack is a group of shooters then ideally you want to counter them with quick flying units and/or spells, because most ranged units can only attack at half power if an enemy group of units is next to them.

If you need something more specific, just ask.

>> No.6245014

>>6244968
Ok, first learn what town you are using
Next, learn creatures and their levels (1-7), especially which ones are ranged. Avoid fighting those early. Minimize losses. Split off some of your level 1 units into stacks of 1, use them to block or soak enemy retaliation before hitting them with your main stack. Don't be afraid to magic arrow shit if you have a spellbook. Use your scout hero to flag mines and collect resources, give him a single unit with the fastest speed you have available.
Mostly it's going to be getting the hang of knowing what you can fight, then knowing the optimal build order/strategy for your town.
>some heroes are vastly superior to others, most towns have a standout, except Inferno, widely considered the worst faction

Get an idea of how hard the neutral armies will be. Homm gives the neutral stacks adjectives like "pack" "horde" "several" instead of telling you exactly how many there are which would be boring.

Monsters are your currency and strength. So you want to summon them all, grab up a few extra from new heroes, get them from creature banks, win them with diplomacy, or turn them into your skeles.

You do have limited gold and resources, so you have to balance buying all the monsters with buying expensive buildings to buy better monsters.

So work on winning battles without a bunch of your monsters dying, nabbing enemy castles, and all that. For as much as there is to it, homm3 is a pretty simple game with a fair bit of luck. This type of game is more enjoyable when you're learning the ropes, so maybe curb the difficulty setting a little bit and just have fun. You'll get good naturally.

>> No.6245710

>>6245539
Probably at least twice as many as you think. Whoever has the bulk of your army should rarely be picking up items on the map, they should be fighting with it or carting the army over to someone else. Use whoever has your army to clear enemies and your other heroes to scout, lick up resources, and set up a chain to bring units in on new weeks. You don't need to only use your "main" hero to fight with your army either, you can fight with them then transfer them off when you're low on movement and have someone else fight with the army so you're clearing more in less time.

This is all meta talk though, in the end you should just respond to things as they come and just enjoy the game without getting caught up in 100% optimal play.

Anyone want to help me make sense of this machine translated nonsense? Only the Russians have figured out how Enchanting in MM6 works it seems.

The main thing that has be baffled in the column marked "Level of things" in the first half. I can't figure out what it is exactly that raises that value from say a 3 to a 6.

The second half is talking about items themselves, not sure how relevant it is but I included a snippet of it just in case.

The green column in enchanting table refers to that L of equipment.
L's of items given in this tables:

My mind is breaking somewhere and struggling to wrap itself around what's being said for some reason.

Uhhh, I guess I'll ask a couple of questions and see if that can make it click for me.
Is the item level random? Like, could a specific ring get generated as level 3, 4 or 5 and you just have to figure out which one it is? What controls the item level if not that?

>> No.6246724

>>6246719
Yes, the same items could have different L's (tiers).
In your picture which you posted, look at the second one.
The last block - The chance of occurrence - lists a probability of an item spawning in a specific item generator (1 to 6) respectively.
Longsword can be generated as L1 with probability of 5%, L2-5%, L3-2% and their stats and appearance would be same.

>> No.6246727

>>6246719
Item level is fixed per item. Sparkling ring is always L1, Scarab Ring is always L6
Stores will carry level appropriate items. For example, New Sorpigal will always sell L1 weapons and armor. Castle Ironfist has an L1 bow shop and also has I believe a L2-3 weapon and armor shop closer to the castle. Free Haven has a L2-3 bow shop. Mist has an L1-2 spear shop.
Likewise, monsters have a fixed level of items they can drop, but it means they can drop UP TO that level of item. A cuisinart in Warlord's Fortress can drop Golden Plate, but he can also drop regular plate and anything in between.
This is 15 year old recollection, so it isnt precise, but I hope it helps.

In Dungeons and Devils and Spoils of War, however, you have to choose which one of two possible factions (Inferno or Dungeon and Fortress and Stronghold, respectively) you want to use for the last mission. So, pick one faction to invest into and don't bother with buffing the other one.

Town portal is one way, you can set a beacon in dungeons and teleport back.
I started an SSSC right after you did, my first in approximately 20 years of this bullshit. I think bow is frowned upon because the strength of the build requires all available skillpoints (and I've fucked up a little to the point I almost want to restart. But benefits of bow master are

>double shots
>only requires Rank 8 and the Battle Mage (archer) promotion quest
Cons are:

Your real big benefits on light and dark magic (very expensive gold/mana wise) are Day of the Gods and Hour of Power for Light and Day of Protection/Shrapmetal/Dragon's Breath for Dark.
>in fact one of my fuck ups was not going to Blackshire for these skills after hitting the NWC Dungeon, which is easter egg/power gaming/cheating in some regards.

Ran a SSSC party myself last year although not to completion. If you can't deal with Gharik's forge yet, try to do the Dungeons in Free Haven for stuff/XP. I didn't do that myself and instead skipped most of the enemies in the forge by running through and tanking their shots. The place pretty much hard counters any party without at least two knights in it, I find (breezed through with KKKD). You can skip most of the switch puzzle in that rectangular chamber with the lava floor with the Jump spell (you can 'glide' along the wall for extra distance)
Lightning/Ice Bolts do decent damage for their cost at 10 skill, or so I hear.

The only unit I like is the Dreadnought/Juggernaut, although I would like it more if the laser attack was only given to the upgraded version.
Mechanic/Flamethrower seems kinda promising, mostly because she can fix mechanical units and also because we haven't seen just whether her attack damages more than one tile.
Armadillo doesn't look like an armadillo at all, rather some sort of a deformed triceratops (check pic for how the armadillo looked in M&M Clouds of Xeen), though they may have some unique abilities related to them rolling.
Halflings are thematically not suited for the faction although the mechanic of canceling a units counterattack sounds OP as fuck.
Similarly, Riflemen/Headhunters are just regular dudes (though the same could be said for Cavaliers) with another OP ability.
Mechanic/Flamethrower seems kinda promising, mostly because we haven't seen just whether her attack damages more than one tile.
Centipedes are really unique and actually fit the environment, but I can't say anything else about them.

Centipede is also very cool too and hobbits should remain neutral, with hats they look just ridiculous. The mechanic girl is cool as an idea for a field mechanic that "heals and resurrects" automatons but I don't like the design. Pick Summon Earth Element.
What to do with sorceress:
1. With Halton take gold on the right.
2. Build stonehenge, build ship, recruit everything, send sorceress to ship.
3. Just nearby there is magellan, buy map, it should take two turns to land near barbarian castle on the south.
3a. You can safely plan taking 2 chests in the ocean.
4. When landed, you should conquer the empty castles with 4 ogres. You will lose 1 or 2 druids. Save mana for elemental.
5. Either wait till green is banished or defend castle. Prepare towers. WARNING: Green has genies too.
Halton:
1. Pick the artefact near castle, might be guarded, but 5 genies will one hit kill.
2. Split genies 3-2 and rush north, disregard everything.
2a. Optionally neutral at alchemist lab might join. Consider it.
3 You will face one of the enemies. Most likely red hero Wyrm. Take him out and go east and capture red Necromancer castle. Wait till they are banished or defend castle.
4. Then face yellow, which is a true bitch.
Meantime:
1. You have fuckton of cash before you get resources. I recruited 3 heroes. With one focus gathering dwarves on west border. Rest will pick stuff.
2. Consider 4th hero to roam the sea and pick fuckton of gold and extra artifacts.
3. I actually disregarded second camp, until enough resouces.
4. Halton should never lose more than one genie.

Final note:
It will work for the 5th/6th attempt.

To be fair, I agree with the sentiment that Cove lineup is bad. I don't mind the way the town plays, it is just that the creature roster feels quite disjointed and themes that different troops bring don't fit all that well. Here is my 2 cents:
>Nymph/Oceaonids - Pixie water elementals, utterly meh, though I get they might be representing the sea that pirates love so much (and now can have sex with). A redesign of the unit visually might improve this slot, otherwise it can be freed for something better.
>Crew Mate/Seaman - for the love of God why didn't they call the upgrade Mariner or something. Okayish I guess, would work better as lvl.1; you get to kill niggers now (cool?!?)
>Pirate/Corsair/Sea Dog - best out of the bunch, signature unit of the town, no remarks here
>Stormbird/Ayssids - biggest fault here that I find is that the bird is of the reptilian, not feathery kind. I think the town could do away with the lizard theme altogether and be leagues better off. Just make it into an awesome bird and you're good.
>Sea Witch/Sorceress - a bit bland, fantasy gypsy thing isn't working all that much for me. Visual rework might do wonders in this slot as well, maybe this is where ocean spirits might actually come in?
>Nix/Nix Warrior - seems filler tier as far as the art design goes, although unit is tanky af and cool, not!lizardmen is just not gonna cut it. Not liking it, would either go for a shark-themed creature or something else from the sea, as it is now, it is just overlapping with Fortress and the end result (with all due respect towards the diligent HotA devs) kinda sucks
Sea Serpent/Haspid - absolute meh; the only lvl. 7 unit that is totally disappointing both visually and thematically. Free this slot for something better, there are more than enough mythic creatures from the sea that could better fit this place.

I'm not. Cove never made sense and only got made because of autists on HotA team convinced themselves about how pirates is just following TEH LORE and everyone loves pirates because of Disney movies. Look, with the scale of the adventure map you can have a random mountain with a Tower in the middle of bumfuck nowhere or an Inferno corrupting land with magma even if it's the middle of a snowy wonderland, but in what fucking situation would a landlocked Cove town make sense? Why is Cove so human-centric? Can Undead be pirates? Obviously they can that's such a big cultural staple PotC did it twice. Can barbarians be pirates? But let's suppose it's specific regnan pirates, it's still a shitty boring lineup. How is Tier 1 different from just water elementals? How are green lizardmen with spear different from blue lizardmen with bows? How is a blue bird different from a yellow bird? It's just an extremely awkward lineup that butts heads with what was already in the game. Factory on the other hand is so far removed (which may be a bad thing depending on your taste) from preexisting visuals that I'm willing to give it a pass.

Water Elementals is the raw element of water reigned in from the Conflux. They're mostly animations that come from an altar of water. Nymphs are water-borne individuals that tend to tempt sailors. The Nix are alligator-men, as opposed to lizard-men, which in itself is a pretty novel concept that fits well with the pirate theme while being unique. I wish they had made them more animalistic like in their early concepts of the Nix, but the final result is still perfectly fine.

>the manual for Terra is kinda trash (as I recall it's the one that's trying too much to be like a story) so look up the recommended stats on something like the MM3 Shrine when rolling your characters
>equip everyone in the party with ranged weapons and "S"hoot everything in front of you until it engages in melee, then just keep pressing A except on spellcasters
>the initial quest in the first city (with the giant rats) can be a little bit daunting so feel free to leave town and just explore a little bit and punch some goblins outside
>deposit all of the gold you earn into the bank
>get yourself blessed! How blessing works is that you go to the temple and give a gold donation once for the day of the week, and the day of the week also determines the strength of the blessing (so on Onesday you get a +1 blessing if you donate just once, but on Tensday you get a +10 blessing if you donate ten times). The blessings are in effect four combined high level protection spells and will make fighting much easier. It's well worth the money investment.

In general it's an open world exploration game, and if you die somewhere you were probably underleveled, but the curve at the very start is a bit rough. For example, the moose rats in the town will destroy you so the answer is go outside. If you walk a couple spaces forward and then a couple spaces left you should find a goblin hut which you can destroy for some experience and items, then go back and train for more levels in the city.

Make sure to buy bows, better weapons, and spells when you can. Also if you aren't play on the DOS version (see the OP pastebin for the link), the ports are bad with the pointer that was obviously intended to be a mouse and no hotkeys.

To be honest most of M&M3, esp. with the default party (which has a strong frontline) can be done with these most basic guidelines:
spam "S"hoot while the enemy closes in;
when in combat, press "A"ttack on your melee party members and then consider if you have to cast a spell.
I primarily used utility spells like all of the heals, Wizard Eye, Jump, Teleport or Etherealize. In the late game bows largely fall off and your spellpower is good enough that you can replace shooting weapons with your Sorcerer's spellcasting, particularly Implosion (which you will spam a lot in the end-game areas).
Also remember to "B"ash walls to find corridors and treasure rooms; Wizard Eye helps with finding secrets tremendously.

In a way M&M3 plays like Wolfenstein 3D with stats, you just shoot shit and make a bzzzzzzzzz sound while you hump walls.

Everything is turn based. If you are in melee combat then every character (and enemy) gets a turn in order based on the speed statistic. If you are out of melee you should see a 3x3 grid in front of you and you get 1 action (1 spell, everyone shoots a bow that can, or walking). Enemies can only attack you from range if they are directly ahead or behind you (so if 2 forward and 1 left from you they can't hit) and have a ranged attack or spell.

>Dwarven Mines
Other than the last two you mentioned and the Bootleg Bay stuff (I don't have a Lloyd's Beacon for Bootleg and I'm trying to be more careful about how I use the days), this is the only one I couldn't find / figure out what you meant.

Is Warlord's Fortress the Champion promotion quest? I don't know a 'Whitecap'.

Sorry, Snergle's Iron Mines are in Mire of the Damned, Snergle's Caverns are in NW Castle Ironfist but require a key from the Iron Mines to progress past a point.
Warlord's Fortress is Champion promotion.
White Cap is one of the two towns in Frozen Highlands

it's been awhile, how do you get the opera music to play in homm2?
struggling to google the solutions atm because I have a 5 year old nephew here

Not for homm2 gold btw, because gold sucks and makes it so you can recruit ghosts

The computer icon on the bottom right is for settings. Then click Music Type to change from midi.

>> No.6262110

>>6262021
Yeah I know how to change it, but it doesn't work, the opera setting simply means no music.
It's a known issue and there's a work around for it, which I don't remember.

Maybe your version doesn't have these opera music files?

Something like that, nephews not here anymore so I'll have time to look it up.
/vr/ archive might even be better than googling it

That being said and all I did test out every fountain I could find in this land to see what good effects I could get

>Awesome, maybe I can do that devil quest I was given, since it's in the area
Nnnnnnnope, no I can't. Am I supposed to have level 500 Air Magic for that shit or something?

That room is a trap (obviously). Walk up and Shrapmetal them like anything else. The only things to worry about are the Minotaur King instadeath spells.

Yeah, but there's a well in town that teleports you into the middle of it if you drink

Oh misread it. You are talking about the Devil outpost not the Castle Kriegspire minotaur room. Basically the same thing though. Set a beacon outside, walk in, kill a few things, leave, heal and beacon back. Shrapmetal is way easier but Sparks will work eventually.

You can lower your reputation just shit-talking random peasants, no need to buy a spell or kill anyone for that.

Or you can just blow up whole towns and drop your reputation with one button. If you have money issues at the point you are getting dark master something went wrong.

I mean that was the plan, but I killed exactly 0 things before having my part shredded. I'll try again once I have Dark Magic up and running, but right now no chance.

>>6262968
Wouldn't you die in the process? What level of Dark Magic is needed for that?

Yes they hit hard. Once you get dark up not only do you gain the offense from shrapmetal but you add a ton of fire resistance with day of protection.
