It's borked though, I tried the 3rd or 4th stage about 5 times and in all of them it was literally impossible to win. This guy would kill the target. I don't remember what exactly the mission was like. But even when I tried it on an emulator with quicksave/load it was still impossible even when I kept loading to get 5 or 6 dots on the dice.

Anyone else play this one? Weird fighting game. All moves were executed with the d-pad and one attack button, despite the fact that 8 buttons were available on the controller, and all of the ten playable characters had identical moves list except for special attacks, which were only different in appearance.

The characters were all reminiscent of protagonists of different anime genres, and the story mode presented each fight like a new episode of a tv series, complete with previews of the next episode. A lot of their backstories were fairly deep, and gave you the sense the game took place in an expansive universe. They had a lot of material to work with; shame they never did anything else, or anything better, with the series.

Didn't know that. But either way, this guy described the game as a two-dimensional moving action adventure game. Not with these words, but that's what he meant. And from what I know about him, he wouldn't even care about playing the game if it didn't have an "RPGy" cover, unless someone asked him to try it.

Negro, I just finished this game last week. After actually paying attention to the story, I think I'm more depressed than ever.

Anyway, pic related.

That game was done by Toys for Bob, the guys behind the Star Control games.

Looks like it's based on the same bood that Bloodlust was based on. I'll keep and eye out for this since the prices I'm seeing for it are reasonable.

I haven't seen too many people who've played Grudge Warriors.

I've been through this 3 times and never finished it yet.

The atmosphere is great though, even through the bad voice acting.

Hated it.

Hated it so much, I can still remember the bitter disappointment in saving up for 3 weeks to get it.

I got it as a present from mum.
>"It's an RPG, you like those!"

I played it, because hell, she took an interest in what genres I liked, and I'm not a spoiled little shit. It wasn't great, but the thought was there.

Later traded it in for Grandia.

Basically skipped lunch to buy it on a fifth grade field trip. Sold it to Gamestop for $1 soon after.

I've still got that somewhere. There's a good reason not many people played it
