Considering how popular Evangelion is, it's weird they didn't made even MORE content.
Compared to many other franchises that are as big as Eva, Evangelion still only has the original series+old movies, and the 3 new movies (plus the new one coming in June).
You can still ignore Rebuild and just keep watching the original anyway.

I don't think he's depressed, he's getting hired by Toho to make big budget films of the stuff he has loved since childhood, and is being incredibly successful at it, Shin Godzilla was one of the most successful Godzilla movies in history. The making of that movie is that halted the making of 1.0+3.0.
He's also going to do an Ultraman movie now.
Guy has probably never been as happy as he is now.

Honestly, the idea of camrips seems horrible to me, but with Evangelion stuff I'm open to make exceptions.
Back in the 90s, I was DYING to see the Evangelion movies, but those weren't officially released until the 2000s in the west. My best option was getting a hold of shit quality VHS copies of fansubs (and sometimes not even english fansubs, for example Death and Rebirth I saw with chinese subtitles, imagine watching the whole invasion to Nerv part for the first time and not understanding what the fuck is going on).
I would have killed for a camrip too back then.
With that in mind, the quality of modern camrips isn't even that bad, definitely more watchable than the dub of a dub of a dub copies in VHS I had back then (which, frankly, also added some charm to the whole experience, but in a different way, it was great to finally see EoE in good quality when I finally got the R2 DVD, after watching it countless times in fuzzy quality bootleg VHS).
I loved watching the camrips of the past Rebuild movies, it's like a treat to my past self. Being able to watch a new Evangelion movie shortly after its release in Japan is mind-blowing.

I think the idea that he "hates the fans" was because he used some love/hate mail in some split-seconds during EoE, which I believe were mails Gainax received either after the TV ending, or after Death and Rebirth, but again, it was both love and hate mail, not just hate mail, and it still doesn't mean Anno hates "the fanbase".

The 1 on 1 battle missions are very similar to the Ultraman game on SNES (also released by bandai), where you try to increase a power bar (synch ratio in the case of Eva) to perform powerful attacks.
In Eva 64, you first need to break the angel's AT Field. Breaking the AT Field requires some buttonmashing, that needs to be well timed, not mindless mashing. Once the AT Field is gone, you can start actually damaging the angel.
Look up some FAQ online, there's guides on how all the controls work.
The gameplay is actually nothing special, since it tries to go for a realistic giant battle melee, it's very slow, but the fun comes from unlocking all the different attack animations. There's many to unlock, and you need to git gud because raising your synch ratio means not ever getting hit.

I didn't even hate 3.33, I was just weirded out by some incongruent shit like Misato being angry with Shinji for starting 3rd impact (when it was Misato who encouraged Shinji to save Rei at the end of 2.22), or the "curse of Eva" asspull to justify not making the kids older, but other than that, it was interesting to see a completely different scenario where Misato and Ritsuko rebelled against Gendo.
In a way, 3.33 left people really angry in the same way EoTV left people really angry. I don't think Anno is going to be able to top EoE with 3.0+1.0, but of course I'm still watching it day 1 (when camrip appears).
I'm not into waifu wars (I like Rei, but I don't care about shitposting blue vs red), so I don't care who "wins" or any other autistic /a/ shit like that, I just want to see more Anno mindfuckness.

A series of CD-ROMs released by Gainax throughout the time the series was originally airing on TV, and sometime later too.
They mostly contain image galleries (in .bmp) but they also include desktop theme goodies like screensavers, clocks, etc.
Some of these discs have already been dumped (well, I think I only found one), but only the gallery, not the desktop themes.
Some of these desktop themes used to be available for download in old 90s/early 00s Eva sites, but I don't think any of those sites exists anymore, there may be some archives though.

Its not that bad of a design, Its a weird makeshift weapon for the eva since it doesnt have arms after they became core material and its likea rotational platform with machineguns to kill everything that gets near, Its not meant to be used on the ground since apparently under certain circumstances the eva can become core material if it touches the ground, so its meant as an omnidirectional weapon configuration, but its just until they get new body parts to get the unit in shape again
