What games/challenge runs have you completed which make you feel the most accomplished? Note that this thread is not a dick measuring contest. Be civil.

I feel pretty good about beating classic Mega Man and MMX up to 4. I'll admit that I can't beat Yellow Devil without the pause trick, though. I've also done a low level run of FFVI, which definitely pushes your knowledge of the game to the limit. Low level Atma Weapon is a fucking blast, and I recommend it to any FF fan who feels the lack of modern difficulty.

I used to be able to do some kaizo Mario stuff, but I haven't practiced in a long time and I'm not as good anymore. Beating Rockman 4 BCAS was pretty difficult too. Also, this isn't retro but I was the first person to ever beat New Super Mario Bros. 2 without collecting any coins, and to this day I think I'm the only one who's ever gotten past star world coinless.

You're going to need to prove that claim.

I put a video up of my route in 2016. It was later copied by another channel which didn't credit me for the route, but if you watch both, it's clear their run was based off mine. No one has claimed to have done it before I did, so I think it's fair to say I was the first.

Cheers, but try not to bring non /vr/ accomplishments into this thread.

I’m sort of proud that I can now beat Skullmonkeys in one sitting. Since childhood I would have to use 99 lives cheat, and I would still give up a certain number of levels in. It’s really fucking hard.

Knife only playthrough of RE1

Beating Silent Hill in 32 minutes IGT

Unironically beating super mario bros without using any warps or the 1 up glitch felt pretty good.

I beat KingPin on Real Mode. I had to save scum, but it completely changes how you need to approach every situation.

I've finished Lost Levels a few times without cheats or shortcuts and once or twice did it without continues. I’ve 1cc’d a few touhou games but I dont think they were retro ones.

Finishing Zelda 2 felt pretty triumphant as well.

It's not really a challenge, and I don't have any way to prove it since the e-mail address I used to submit the tip is long since defunct, but I was the first one to discover Totaka's Song in Wario Land VB and have it documented on the internet.

My greatest achievement was completing my entire collection of north American NES games. For a lot of them I had to just get the boxes but they look so damn good on my shelf.

Wish they'd made a remake or port for the 3DS, I had a blast playing through that game on an emulator with anaglyph 3d and red/blue glasses on

Nothing really special, but I feel proud for completing ff 1 to 5 so far, and the zeldas all the way from the first to Oracle of seasons. Zelda 2 was definitely a challenge, I ended up save stating the entrance to the very last dungeon though, but still glad I beat it.

About to finish Oracle of ages soon.

Because you're a tripfag, I feel compelled to shit on you and tell you that none of those games are difficult and you're a baby.

Not very popular. But I just beat the whole campaign (both sides) on total annihilation on hard mode.

I used to play it with my dad, so my autistic ass had to finish it

100% completed BG2 (every quest, sidequest, and party member quest) without killing any bystanders, mind flayer thralls or slave control collar wearers, and getting every possible banter dialogue from party members; also having Aerie, Jaheira and Viconia in my party without them getting into a three way bitch fight with one another, completing Aerie/Haer'Dalis romance, and securing Jaheira's Harper pin, while completing the Viconia romance, all in one game.
