/vr/ - Retro Games

It's essentially an emulator that you play real carts on. I guess it's convenient if you don't already have a set up or controllers to emulate. Those controllers look like shiete though.

It's not an emulator, it's a hardware clone. The Retron 5 is an emulator. Small difference. Also apparently the controllers are pretty good from reviews online.

I'm almost certain those people don't know wtf they are talking about. I can't imagine why they wouldn't cheap the fuck out on these controllers as much as possible.

By reviews I'm talking about /vr/ YouTubers, and they have been critical of retro bits prior controllers but apparently these are good. I have no reason to doubt them considering they have been critical of retro bits other stuff. I personally haven't tried it as I prefer original controllers, but that doesn't negate the quality of third party offerings.

Most of the devices also come with ports to just plug in the original console controllers so that you don't have to use the flimsy multi-controller.

It plays games from 2 of my most favorite consoles, the NES and SNES. It shows that whoever gave you the present must've thought you enjoyed those two systems as well. Mike Tyson's Punch Out! and Contra are a couple of my favorites as well and you should have a great time.

I wish that there ware a Retron for the 5200 & 2600/7800.

Or o ne for the Colecovision & Intellivision so I could play all the third party games that the flashbacks did not have.
