Shadowrun is the most glaring omission. Play Genesis and SNES. If you like racing, Outrun 2019 has a great cyberpunk aesthetic.

My friends are getting hyped for 2077 too. Beneath a Steel Sky, Rise of the Dragon, or the Blade Runner game may fit the bill. I think you may like Journey to Silius a lot as I do.

If you can read moon, then Shadow Brain for the famicom. Otherwise, there's an English patch for Metal Slader Glory. To a lesser degree, there's Kabuki Quantum Fighter and Ninja Warriors (and its remake).

Most of those are point & click games, but they do have a Cyberpunk atmosphere to their settings. The setting was pretty en vogue in the 80s and 90s.

I figured you'd appreciate the monstrosities in that series were called boomers. The music of the 80s and the story of Bubblegum Crisis may not jive with you, but it does have the setting and pretty good animation in its day for traditional cel animation techniques without computer rendering assistance. Picked up a used Blu-Ray of the OVA series for $7USD, but I realize I do not have a blu-ray player I am willing to use (the PS3 CECHA01 need to get new paste and whatever reballed means) so I hope to save up enough for a One X or 4pro by this year's Black Friday.

I haven't thought about this game since the early-00's.
Game did look great (you just can't be that era's pre-rendered backgrounds), but that shit was too hard for kid me, so I ended up trading it for Silver.

This playlist goes over a lot of early cyberpunk-ish games. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRmMOveppLGOOvvTCfCzGQYAv8fcS3Zje

I second the recommendations for Rise of the Dragon, Genesis Shadowrun, and Syndicate. I'd also suggest checking out Dreamweb (pictured) and the System Shock games. Kowloon's Gate has some great grimy cyberpunk atmosphere too, but I'd imagine it'd be a pain to play without a guide or Japanese knowledge.
